I've become a regular at McNears. With good food and great selection of local brews, you will never have a bad time here. This storied tavern is one of the oldest and greatest in California. For my friends with sensitive ears; Like most taverns, it gets loud on game nights ?Dietary restrictions: They are good at accommodating dietary needs.

It looks like a chain restaurant with food to match. They do have a nice selection of beer if you can fight through the local who's who eyeballing you at the bar. The saving grace of this spot is that it is next door to the historic Mystic Theater which boasts a great variety of world class entertainment and music. If you can get a patio table before a show then you are sitting pretty.

Abience is fun, bartender was nice. Food was very ok at best and the ahi tacos were terrible. Fried zucchini taste like they used the same fryer as their fish. Pre game here then go somewhere eles for food.

Visited McNear's at the beginning of September with my wife and sister-in-law and a great time was had by all, especially by me as I was not driving and manage to sample their excellent beer, everything was excellent, so the fact that I may never visit again is a pity, but I live 6,000 miles away and we can but wait and see.
