Honestly, the sound system has sucked for years. Just saw Fleetwood Macrame and the speakers were so blown out it was just fuzzy bass...horrible acoustics. Can they repair something?
Great venue. Definitely going back.
It's my second time here! The first show was Jimmy Clif, I forgot what years was. Had so much fun.
Excellent venue! Nikki Lane was amazing!
I've been to and through Petaluma many times over the years. Have always wanted to catch a show at the Mystic, but dates for anything I was interested in never lined up.
That changed this time when excellent new'ish band Melt was there during our week-long stay.
The theater is a historic gem, connected to McNear's Saloon & Dining House.
It's got a great sound system and decent lighting. It's apparent that it has, at times in it's 100-year-plus history been a movie house and vaudeville venue. There's a small balcony that opens when crowd size warrants.
The band was fantastic. The venue was a perfect fit. Will definitely be back again.
I’ve debated for a few months about leaving this, but with the encouragement from a few other people who work in events, I feel this is important.
We went to a show here a couple months ago. We were excited because we’d been here once before for a show a year prior and had fun.
We get to the show and six people immediately sit behind us who are belligerently drunk. They started yelling over the show the second it starts, were spilling their drinks on us, and laughing so hard they were coughing on the back of my partner’s head.
We go to the staff to tell them what was happening. Staff says “Oh well we can’t remove them nor can we refund you, but you can come stand in the aisles away from them if you like.” We ask if they are serious that that is all they can do, and they say yes.
We were shocked that the theatre had no policies for removing disruptive guests nor did they refund our $100 worth of tickets. We were incredibly polite, but we just left. We saw other people who had been sitting near us leaving as well.
I work in user experience and also have worked in events, so I’m absolutely appalled that there was basically nothing done to insure their community can hear or enjoy their events, and that their user journey for us ended with “wow, that really sucked. I guess we’ll never go there again.”
I hope they work to update these policies, maybe then I’ll go back.

Sounded great
Great place for concerts. Small venue.
Good stuff
Great place for a show, excellent sound.
Went and saw journey/foreigner cover band(s). Overall, a really good show in a small but cool venue. Intimate I guess you could say. Beers were as expected in price. I liked it. I'll definitely go back. Parking wasn't bad either and I showed up right before show time. On a Saturday night!
