This is a solid restaurant in Petaluma. It does get crowded on the weekend. I am a huge fan of the corner beer and eggs.

The steak was delicious. I told my friend to not get the steak because i thought it wouldn’t be good. The chef over heard me and cooked a baller tri tip steak. Hats off to them.

I got an incredible birthday cake from Sax!! We got cookies & cream frosting with chocolate & vanilla cake. You have to call to place the order- I attached a photo of all their flavor options. Total was $71 for a “standard” cake (I.e. no special requests.) Half the cake was able to serve 10 people. Everyone said how moist & delicious it was, and loved that it wasn’t overly sugary tasting. Highly recommend!!

Great food. Was very busy. Place feels like your in a hurricane with waitresses very busy waiting tables. Food was very good and abundant. Prices were very competitive.

Good, very local. BUT, they seem to have a farm community problem.

Wow,,, I was mind blown by both the quantity and quality of their foods when I visited there last week with my girl friends. For someone who is so used to price in SF, seeing delicious 4 pieces of chicken and amazing waffle for 20 dollars was a culture shock. The waffle was probably one of the best I ever had. It was so airy and gooey inside and perfectly crispy outside. We only ordered 2 breakfast plates and three of us couldn’t finish. Can’t wait to go back there to try differ dishes !

Generally, I enjoyed eating here. From what we got, the eggs were fine. Cooked well. And I had my own personal gripe with the modifications I made to my bacon waffle, aka probably don't put peanut butter and bananas. But some of the things we didn't quite like was that the coffee was slightly burnt, the food wasn't too standout (just fine,) and most importantly the potatoes were NOT seasoned well. Like, literally I could taste no salt or attempt at making the potatoes any more than potatoes with scallions on top. I also wish their chocolate milk was better as it came across like milk mixed with chocolate powder that just settled at the bottom and ended up tasting more like milk than I'd personally prefer. Overall, well loved but I don't think it's really all that outstanding. Just can't give it a 3 star, doesn't feel right.

If you’re looking for a diner that doesn’t just serve food but serves experiences, Sax’s Joint is the place. Walking in feels like stepping back into a 1950s time capsule—chrome, checkered floors, and that nostalgic vibe that makes you want to stay all day.

But let’s talk about the real star: the Crab Eggs Benedict. Epic doesn’t even begin to cover it. Imagine perfectly poached eggs draped in silky hollandaise, stacked on a mountain of fresh crab so generous it could’ve come straight from Poseidon’s pantry. Every bite is rich, decadent, and absolutely unforgettable—the kind of dish that makes you wonder why every other Benedict you’ve ever had even bothered showing up.

And the portions? Let’s just say Sax’s Joint doesn’t believe in “small.” You come here hungry, you leave victorious.

Bottom line: Sax’s Joint isn’t just a diner—it’s a full-on culinary throwback with food that slaps harder than a jukebox hit.
