Stopped in on a whim - rare Sunday morning alone in Petaluma. Sat at the counter. Nice, helpful staff. Shrimp and grits were very good - shrimp was tempura fried, which was a novelty for me. Egg was as ordered - a little runny. Grits were yummy. Biscuit was huge and fluffy and very good. A little pricy ($35 for just me) but what isn't pricey in CA? Highly recommend.
Visit here for large portions coupled with the taste and flamboyant service. The steak , coupled with the hash browns and over easy poach was cooked to the perfection and special mention should be provided to crab cake benedict. The biscuit was ok, not too outstanding.
Sax's Joint offers a charming 50's style atmosphere that takes you back in time. We found this place based on all the amazing reviews on both Google and Yelp.
From the beginning, the service was fast and friendly. Luckily, we came early enough so we didn't have to wait. Due to the small size of the restaurant, everyone who arrives when the restaurant is full has to wait outside, which doesn't sound that great, especially on a chilly morning or a rainy...
