Chef Stephane is not only a brilliant and creative chef, but also genuinely kind and cares about the broader community.
TCP has become one of my top restaurants in the bay area. The menu changes seasonally, which you would never know because all of the items were the perfect balance of both flavors and textures. My favorites were:
- crudo tartlette
- beef tartare with sunchoke cappuccino
- cocolemon (SO unique felt like I was going on a treasure hunt)
I can't wait to come back in the spring and will be recommending TCP to all of my friends and family- it's a small place so make sure to make a reservation in advance!

You’re missing it big time if you’re traveling to the area but not trying this place out. Exemplify how farm-to-table is not just a gimmick but what the future of food should look like - equitable, respectful, beautiful. The tasting menu is full of delicious surprises so I won’t spoil you with details. It’s also seasonal so expect something different from our experience as well!

This is the finest restaurant in Petaluma and one of the best I’ve eaten at anywhere in Sonoma County. It is a tiny place that is a beautiful, elegant jewel box. It feels wonderful in the main room and during pleasant weather their patio is also very appealing.
We had a their prix fixe 7 course meal without the wine paring. The courses were each different, appropriately sized, and brilliantly seasoned. Their sauces are just exceptional. We had halibut, steak tartare, shrimp, squab, etc. Each as an entree sized plate would have made for a legendary meal. By the end of the meal we were happily full but not vastly over fed as is sometimes the case with prix fixe meals.
The wait staff is friendly, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. Their wines are unusual selections and delicious. The staff all seem to be sommeliers or at least very well informed. The service was smooth and artfully unobtrusive. This is one of the most sophisticated restaurants I’ve seen.
Finally, the price is extremely attractive. It is not inexpensive but it is remarkably affordable given both the level of the cuisine and service.

Since covid it seems like my wife and I have had more disappointments than positive dining experiences. That trend stopped last night at TCP. Did we love every item on the tasting menu? No, one item was only pretty damn good. Great food, impeccable service and an imaginative wine pairing made this dining experience worth every cent. They also always answer the phone with a real person and that person is actually pleased to talk to you.

Wow. Table Culture Provisions really raises the bar. Not only was the food incredible but the service level is one of the best I've ever had. The staff were very attentive and really made our experience special, even though we weren't celebrating anything in particular. Everything about the experience was comfortable. I didn't have to ask for anything the whole night. They obviously take tremendous pride in their service. As a person in a larger body, the chairs were comfortable and I had plenty of room, even though the dining room was small. The decor was modern, beautiful , and they had great lighting to showcase the beautifully plated food. The food was also out-of-this-world tasty. Thank you to the whole staff for a memorable experience!
Wheelchair accessibility: There were small steps to enter at the main entrance. Call to inquire about accommodations.

When deciding where to celebrate my birthday it was an obvious that tcp was the spot.
As a vegan, finding a tasting menu that is something I can eat is always a treat and this was exactly that. In my reservation I outlined my allergies and then called to follow up to ensure the meal was able to be adjusted. My three friends enjoyed the traditional menu.
Highly recommend this experience
Vegetarian options: With notice, they are able to create a custom tasting menu for vegetarians or vegans
Dietary restrictions: They are incredibly accommodating to any restriction.

OMG, this place gives many Michelin starred restaurants in Sonoma and Napa a run for their money. The food and service were sublime, and the small number of tables made for such an intimate meal. Cannot wait to go back.

This is one of those places that look fantastic on paper but, unfortunately, fall short in terms of experience. The ambiance, while stylish and polished, felt somewhat cold and detached, lacking the warmth or character that makes a restaurant memorable. The food was undeniably solid, but it left no lasting impression—I found myself struggling to recall a single dish afterward. The service was professional, almost to a fault, but it came across as impersonal and sterile, lacking the personal touch that makes diners feel truly welcome. Additionally, the exclusively male staff could sometimes feel alienating, particularly for female diners. In the end, it’s a place that excels in presentation but fails to create a memorable experience.

Table Culture Provision - I give it 5 Lardons, my highest rating!!!
We have dined with TCP several times since they opened up at this location and all experiences have been great, however, this one was spot on in every way.
And it was extra special because we brought my brother-in-law and wife for his birthday, neither of whom had visited before but had heard us raving over the years about how amazing TCP is. Because of this, there were some pretty high expectations from their side of the table and TCP's chefs, servers, and staff fully delivered, with my sister-in-law even proclaiming that this very well may have been the best meal of her life. (It certainly ranked Top 5 all-time for us.)
The food was amazing, the service was top notch (efficient and professional, as well as perfectly friendly) and the ambiance was warm and welcoming.
I highly recommend getting the full menu...and DO add the Parker House Roll! Every time I hear someone at another table ask a server what it is, I want to lean over and tell them to just order it and if they like it, I'll buy it off them.
And as far as the tasting menu, it's fantastic. We have had the pleasure of dining at a lot of Michelin starred restaurants and cannot quite figure out why TCP has not yet received this distinction. Their food and service easily rank at least halfway up our list of actual Michelin star.experiences, and easily beats out the 2 star restaurant up the coast that we have visited several times. However, at the same time they have not overdone it with ridiculous food and perplexing dishes and cutlery. They are very creative while still remaining approachable and fun.
We usually find at least one item on a tasting menu to be a bit off but every single one on this menu is well thought out, well prepared, and absolutely a delight for the eyes, the nose, and the tongue and belly. I wish I could pick a favorite but all were amazing. But I will say that the prosciutto bite was unique (I could easily eat half a dozen of those balls), the scallop may be the best crudo we have ever had, the duck was perfect (what we expect from Liberty Ducks in the hands of Chef Steph and Chef Steven), and the pre-dessert and actual dessert were simply amazing.
Finally, the service was first class. As my regular readers know, I revel in great service and love to give that credit where it is due and Danny and Jessie (both Petaluma Foodies, I believe) not only complimented but complemented the experience perfectly. They are professional without being stuffy and are knowledgeable without being condescending. They give 3 star Michelin service while keeping things fun, light, and enjoyable. And they did not try to run us off as soon as we were finished with our meal. They allowed us to relax and bask in the glory of what we had just experienced, and honestly, that extra 10 minutes or so that we lingered was necessary so as to fully appreciate what we had just experienced.
As an added bonus, their lighting above the tables is perfect for food photos. They are LED orbs that put off enough light to keep the room well lit, but unless you are directly under them, you do not even see that they are on. But slide your dish to the middle of the table and you have excellent overhead lighting so that you don't have to use your phone's flash or ask a companion to light things up with their cell phone's flashlight app.
And for those who saw my question here last week about the corkage fee, we love their wine selection (they even have an amazing non-alcoholic sparkling wine), but the bottle of port we brought from home was so worth it to have with our meal that the corkage fee felt like a bargain!
Although TCP may be one of the pricier places in Petaluma, when compared with other Michelin-esque places, they are actually quite a value. And if you want to taste the same flavor
