First of all, this is a wine shop. If you are an up-tight wine snob then go elsewhere. However, if you know wine, and you’ve explored local California wines but are tired of fruit bombs, oak, butter, and exorbitant prices … then Jason will open your eyes to wines from all around the world that are affordable! Keep in mind he can sell you a glass or a bottle but cannot give you a free taste because of his license … so don’t friggin ask! However, he can keep you laughing until you have to run to the bathroom … just remember to pat the gnome on the nose!

Stumbled upon this gem yesterday and boy did we have a ball. Not only did Jason recommend several stellar bottles but he is an absolute riot and regaled us with great tales about everything. His knowledge of wine is unparalleled. Our new favorite wine shoppe! ? ?P.S. I may or may not have had to kiss a little elf on the nose in the bathroom in order to use it ???

Jason knows wine, great selection of reds,. whitea, local and international. Beer and other beverages are available for the non wine drinkers. Plenty of seating. If you like big personalities, and want to know about Petaluma the man behind the counter with the belly is your man!

Owner Jason was super friendly, and found us a California Sauvignon blanc in the style we love, dry and minerally!

My favorite wine shop. Great new location! The owner has insightful wine suggestions and is very friendly. Also, the wine club is a fantastic deal.

After a great chat, I was recommended a Waits Mast wine that I haven't been able to get out of my head since the night I opened it.Can't ask for more than that!

Jason, the owner, knows wine like nobody else I know. And that's saying a lot coming from someone who lives in wine country. I first discovered this wine bar at the previous location when I first moved here six+ years ago which was, as some reviewers said, a bit dark inside. To me, that was a net positive and totally divine - a bit of a 'hideaway' if you will. Same great wines, and the same great service. The new location on Kentucky is light, bright, warm, and welcoming. While there are only four coveted, comfy seats at the bar, there are plenty of spots by the windows, too. When Jason's behind the bar, you're bound to learn about some delicious wines you've never tried before. He's affable and fun, and the wonderful people who flock to this place are just as much so. I've joined many pricey wine clubs in the past decade from Sonoma to Napa but what I love most about Vine and Barrel's wine club is that it's varied, it's not just wines from one vineyard, and it's not just California wines, either. Jason exposes his customers to incredible wines from around the world, all at reasonable prices, too. You really cannot ask for more. Stop in next time you're in Petaluma. You'll be glad you did.

Great wine, tapas are delicious and Jason is knowledgeable, approachable and interesting! Everytime we walk away having enjoyed the experience and tried something new. Can't beat the location either.

If you like/love wine and are in the Petaluma region, this shop is a must stop. Jason is knowledgeable about wine and the different products he holds in his shop. I was wandering through town, and stopped there by accident, I ended up stayin for a good 1.5 hours talking about wine, California, restaurant recommendations and anything in between. In a nutshell: just go!
