Got lucky and tripped across this gem. Great service, wonderful food, an extensive menu with some options you don’t see all the time - at least not where we usually travel. The portions were generous but not ridiculous, more importantly the food was served hot - we travel and eat out enough to really appreciate when the hot food arrives hot. Biscuits were fluffy, tortillas with the machaca were soft and tasty. The home fries were real potatoes, not the pre-cooked frozen potatoes served these days. My sausage patties were tasty and the omelet was almost too full of green chilies and tomatoes. Our server was prompt and professional while still being friendly. They were decorated for Halloween and I loved it, some may think it is over the top but it shows you are at a unique diner not a cookie cutter chain. Good hot coffee, nothing fancy just a good cup of joe. Bathrooms are small - one seat, no stalls, but clean and they actually have paper towels. We will definitely be back when we come through again - there was a whole lunch menu I never looked at.

The waitress and atmosphere was wonderful and felt like home. I ordered the hamburger and fries I tested every restaurant by the hamburger and it was amazing It reminded me of a hamburger I have been looking for since my favorite place closed and ordered the chicken fried steak with homemade biscuits and gravy and that tasted awesome. The French toast is so amazing I am coming back to try the steak. I Top my hat to the Hostess and Chief/ cook some people lose their love for the trait and no love in the food but this place there is passion in what they do and the food is Heavenly, a definite place to come to eat and try.

We eat here only when we treat ourselves cause i feel this place is the best of the best in the phelan area. I love there sausage burrito and the lumberjack for breakfast. So far I tried the chicken fettuccine Alfredo, the Frisco burger, pastrami sandwich, and the meatloaf ?

A little expensive - each meal is about $15 or more per person (not including drink or if you want to replace your fries with a different side). But the food is amazing, so it's worth it!
Seems to be a great place for travelers. (DO NOT ASK FOR A RESTROOM UNLESS YOU'RE A PAYING CUSTOMER; it's worth it though, just go ahead and order something!) No wait to be seated: just sit yourself. Not full but I'd still consider it "busy" for a more remote spot (and there is only one waitress/cashier. No kid's menu but they are prepared for kid's with high chairs and cups with lids.
I had the Pastrami Dip, with zucchini fries and it was really filling; I didn't even get to finish it all before I was full!
The decor and vibe of the place is very cozy -- like Grandma's home. There's cute decor, a homey fireplace, beautiful wood interior, etc.
