The prices are $19 for a hamburger. When we walked in to eat, the person who came to the register, took his two fingers and wipe the bottom of his nose so we walked back out. The inside of the room is extremely hot, no AC and the outside is bench seating.

The Chimney Tree Grill in Phillipsville, California, is a charming eatery known for its unique design, delicious burgers, and decadent milkshakes. The restaurant's most distinctive feature is its location within a hollowed-out giant redwood tree, creating a cozy and rustic dining atmosphere that's truly one-of-a-kind.While savoring their mouthwatering burgers, patrons can also indulge in rich and creamy milkshakes, making for a satisfying dining experience. What sets Chimney Tree Grill apart is its proximity to the heart of the California Coastal Redwoods, allowing visitors to enjoy a meal surrounded by some of the tallest and oldest trees on Earth. This combination of natural beauty and culinary delight makes it a must-visit destination for those exploring the wonders of the Redwood Forest.

This place was a huge disappointment. The bread was hard, the condiments were self-serve and looked questionable, the burger was overcooked, and the soda was $4. The lady at the counter was coughing her brains out, and the chef was on his phone while the burgers were burning on the grill. I couldn't find the bathroom with their instructions, so I had to pee on a tree in the back. The burgers were very disappointing, especially for the price. The only positive thing about this place is the location.

Delicious burgers from grassfed, local beef, plus really good French fries! Only issue was that we did not have the option to have the meat cooked to a certain doneness. They were served well-done. Service was friendly.

We stopped to see the tree. It's large, very large. If you're not eating, it takes a couple minutes to see it and go.

We stopped here to see a tree that once was. We went in the hollowed out redwood and laughed at how big this tree once was. Nice stop.
