We have been coming to Vargas for years. We're talking over 30 years. Their food is still delicious in taste. But my gosh, seeing how they weigh the meat (like carnitas) before they put it in a burrito is kind of shocking. We go to a lot of Mexican food places and watch them make the food, and I have never seen a place measure carnitas or any other meat before they put it in a burrito. Old school deli for take out only! Bring your olla for menudo, food made from scratch daily. Carne roja, bean and cheese or chille relleno burrito are a favorite! Hot tamales are always a hit!
I came here by accident. I still can't believe that such a simple burrito (tortilla, beans, chile relleno and sauce) could be that delicious. I ordered the chile relleno burrito with green sauce because the owner told me it was her favorite. My mouth is watering just remembering the taste.
