I have been here twice and have ordered to go multiple times. The Ube pancakes are one of my favorite items in the menu but honestly you can't go wrong. The portions of the food don't change even if you're ordering to go. If you're in the area, you should check out this restaurant.

We come almost every week, and everything has always been good, we always order the same thing and now the bread was burnt, the pancakes were burnt, the milk was spoiled and I got a fly in my coffee, and they don't ask for or apologize for it. They even get upset when you mention that something is not right.

Food was amazing! I got the Ube pancakes. I love Ube so it was a must try especially being a new resident locally. Service was pretty busy but attentive. Nice little Filipino small family ran business! Sorry I'm not sure if it's owner and operated under the same people. Don't want to assume. The restaurant is a little hidden but gives a great local cafe/breakfast shop vibe! Cozy and welcoming! I'd definitely recommend coming here for a Filipino breakfast fixing!

The food is decent. However, last time we waited for an hour when there were 2 empty tables. When we asked, we were told those tables were not for customers. After some time. we were seated at the counter and others were immediately seated at the empty tables. Service at the counter was poor and it took even longer to get our food than the people seated after us. Not going back there.

Sue is so imaginative. Just had the best brisket sliders. They are sooooo good. Always expect a surprise for your mouth.

Came here for a breakfast date with my wife. She ordered Porkchop breakfast with eggs and rice. I ordered chicken fried steak and eggs with garlic rice. I'm so glad it had sausage gravy on it. Gravy, a little bland, it had good chunks of sausage in it, though. Fried steak was really good, eggs cooked perfectly, and the garlic rice was really garlicky, lol. Staff is really friendly and sweet.

My friend and I were looking for a place to eat around Pinole. We were really hungry after a long walk at Pt. Isabel. The restaurant had a nice homey old style diner vibe! We were seated almost immediately by a really friendly waitress. I ordered the daily special loco moco and my friend ordered the chicken and waffles. It took about 10 minutes for our food to come out and it was fresh! The chicken was super crispy, flavorful and juicy, and my friend said that her waffle was crispy too. Additionally they heated up the syrup and the butter was softened so she could spread it easily. The loco moco was one of the best I've ever had and blows the local Hawaiian restaurants out of the water. The gravy was tasty, the rice was the perfect amount and there were some sweet yellow onions to balance everything out. It was filling and warm without being too much. The service was great the entire time. Our server was so sweet and checked in on us multiple times. We will definitely be back!

A wonderfully homey place with great service and good food. I love the variety of the constantly rotating daily menu. Every visit is different but delicious.

There are Filipino communities everywhere in the Bay Area, places like Daly City where Filipino eateries are pretty common. I just didn't realize Pinole was one of them until I sauntered into this cafe before taking a walk on the San Pablo Bay Regional Trail. It was already quite busy in here at 11AM as the breakfast crowd was lingering. Yet, I managed to snag a booth. That happened much to the consternation of two passive-aggressive overweight women who clearly had their respective eyes on it. Get over it. Move on. I saw some delectable Ube-Coconut Pancakes and Eggs Benedict pass by me, but I decided to take advantage of their daily specials and ordered the $15 Tortang Talong. It appeared to be a Filipino-style omelette. Fire-roasted eggplant was combined with cherry tomatoes, onion, mushrooms, and spinach into an omelette and served with garlic rice (photo: They provided a bottle of banana ketchup which I poured liberally over the eggs. I thought it was a pretty good veggie option for breakfast though the eggs were a little too brown for my taste. Spam musubi next time. FOOD - 3 stars...a filling but not great omelette AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...a busy diner in the late morning SERVICE - 3.5 stars...attentive if a bit abrupt TOTAL - 3 stars...homestyle Filipino comfort food if that's your mood RELATED - Exploring this side of Contra Costa County? Two of us went in, put our name down and sat for 10 min. No one even looked our way, no one told us it would be just a few minutes or even 30 minutes , we were amazed that no one even glanced our way…nothing. We eventually just got up and left. Busy? Yes which is a sign of good food.. There were two open tables that I could see. But no one even looked at us at all..strange way to run a small family restaurant. After reading other low reviews this isn’t uncommon. The place has great reviews as I can see, but we probably won’t go back for another try due non inviting atmosphere and other similar reviews addressing same issue.
