Food Pretty expected for what they were offering, Nothing they messed up on with the sunny-side up eggs, country potatoes, and ribeye steak.
Service Server was incredibly accommodating and genial. She was knowledgeable about the menu, and even had a spare AI steak bottle in her apron pocket!
To be honest, I wasn't impressed with the first Mel's I went to on Sunday since they took so long to get me to table and weren't that friendly. I decided to try out the Mel's in Pinole since I was in an exploratory mood since my Los Angeles trip driving there and driving home on Friday and Saturday. At the Pinole location, the employees were quick to find a table for me, answer my questions, and to get my transaction going through.
I'll come back if I'm in the area and feeling like eating here again.

I love the breakfast and dinner menu. The home fries are superb and my dinner favorite is beer battered fish and vegetables with a side salad.

Wow, what a delight. We found this hidden jem. Took me all the way back to the good-ole-days!! The service was awesome, but the food was superb!. They have that 50's, 60's, 70's menu, all the classics!! Just what I used to order when I was a kid, like Root Beer Floats, Malt-shakes, Turky dinner any time, etc. This is a must do for old and young alike, you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend you try this for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You'll thank me ?
We love this place and we always take guests here when they visit. Awesome place for a family or big group. They have amazing food, clean bathrooms, good service and a great atmosphere. They are attentive to needs with kids and the music adds a good feeling

One of the best Mel’s I’ve been to ever! The staff from our waiter to the manager “Uriel” was phenomenal! They acknowledged our food concerns , and how we liked it cooked and prepared, and did just that. Uriel deserves a pay rise at best. Good character professionally and just generally. Rock on Mels Pinole!

As far as dinars go, this is one of the best I've been to. The atmosphere is great - very charming, and clean. We were there late at night - so it was pretty empty, but service was good. My burger was ok, but the menu had lots of options.

Parking: It depends on what time of day but usually there's parking somewhere in front of Mel's if it's a busy day like for example Sunday morning when most people go out for breakfast or brunch as a family the parking lot will be pretty full so you might have to park a little farther away like in front of the GNC vitamin building or the parking lot that's directly adjacent.
Kid-friendliness: Mal's offers a kid's menu they also offer crayons and menus so that kids can draw on it.
Wheelchair accessibility: The front entrance offers a low wheelchair accessible ramp so you can easily access the front door through a wheelchair without any problems. Some tables have chairs which can be removed so wheelchairs can be rolled up to the table which makes disabled individuals able to access the table without any difficulty.
