During the long drive back to Hollywood from Big Bear, my kids said they were hungry. We had passed nothing but rocks and sand for ages so I didn't think we'd have any options but luckily Casa Ortega popped up on the map. The restaurant was nearly empty and just one man seemed to be operating as waiter, bartender, and chef but our food was delivered promptly and everything was delicious. Their air conditioning also works very well which we all appreciated. I'd definitely return if I found myself in the area again. It's a delightful oasis in the desert. Highly recommended.

Local place. Try the seafood molcajete, the mole and have Jesus make you a margarita. Service may not be instant, but this is the best place around.

Fine if you are in the area, not worth a trip. Went there for my daughter's birthday yesterday, they had 1 waiter for the whole restaurant which wasn't so much of an issue due to it being pretty slow, and he was great, very friendly, he is the only reason this isn't lower than 3 stars. I tried to order guacamole, which he stated they didn't have any but they had avocados, so apparently they can't make fresh guacamole? The salsa was ok, the chips tasted like the oil they were fried in hadn't been changed in 2 weeks, the food was heavily salted. I ordered fajitas which were fine but nothing special. Overall there are many other places in the area that I would go to before coming back, but it's not awful that I would tell people to stay away.

What a surprise! At first this place looked like the bar from Dusk till Dawn but the inside is Gorgeous and the food beats any in town. Lucky Strike
A neighbor went here and found roaches in her food, after pointing it out, the manager did nothing, it was a 70.00 meal!The kitchen must be disgusting & the Health Department has been notified, before anyone gets sick! After seeing her pictures, i recomnend No One EVER eats there ewe!!!

My husband ,myself and kids when to an event they had on the outside there was vendor's and music ? it was nice but once we went inside the restaurant there was a very rude bar tender because of his rude ways towards me and my family I will never go there again .. we ask for a menu to take out but he was rude and said we can't take the menus they have we have to order in no meuns for outside orders , if he was nicer mannered we could accept that but just the way he said it and the look on his face made me feel I'm never coming here again also when we ask for water it was such a bother to him . My husband had the same vibe I did so I know it wasn't just me !!! Hopefully he doesn't work there no more and everyone who goes there will have a better experience than we did if there selling it's probably because of there rude bar tender that has made them lose business.

Awesome folks, service is great & food is always on point! Here weekly, sometimes twice a week, my lady is the loud one! Enjoy (fried ice cream, a favorite with the kids) pitcher of margaritas are great too!

GRRAT food, very clean, spacious, and lovely decor. We went in for an early dinner on a Saturday and loved it!! Everything we had was just right: orange roughy fish tacos, chili rellenos, burrito with beef and beans and red sauce. Not a long wait at all and pleasant service. The beef was tender and full of flavor, beans and rice just as we like, fish just perfect. Try this place!!! You'll be glad you did. Really!!
