Very remote place so staff are limited and service can be slow but this is understandable. Location is amazing. Food was way better than expected. Amazing salads and entrees. Coffee was some form of prehistoric sludge that was served in plastic cups. You chewed the coffee more than you drank it. However, would come again for the food.

This place is a gold mine! A week after Labor Day, we stayed in a condo in Kirkwood six miles east. There are no open restaurants in Kirkwood this time of year, so we took an evening drive over to Silver Lake and dined at the Silver Fork Restaurant. In a very delicious way, they kitchen and staff were life preserver! The pasta was excellent. Get there before sundown because the views are stellar!

Gorgeous view. Waitress was flat. Food wasn't fully cooked and we got food poisoning. We had to ask for napkins, utensils and condiments. Silverware arrived dirty. This is the fourth time we've been here and 3 out of 4 times the food was either bleeding or wet batter was sliding off onion rings.
Parking: Limited number of spots, although free there are only about six total or you're walking quite far

Avoid if you can. Been coming to Silver Lake since the 80’s, and usually have one dinner here. New management since Covid and they’re running the place into the ground as hard and fast as they can. Short menu got dumbed down, and of that, half the items are unavailable. Front of the house is clueless. They’re friendly, and trying to please, but utterly inept. I fully get it’s a “mountain” restaurant, resources are more scarce, availability of ingredients and labor is not what it is in more populated areas, but this was always a sweet little place and now it’s a bad joke.

We sat down at 5:30pm and we were the only people there. We placed an order for food and drinks (water and sprite) and it took over 1 hour to get water. It took 1.5 hours to get the food. Cesar salad came with no dressing, and I never got any. The food was Denny's quality and the total bill for 3 people, no alcohol came to $150. Overpriced, terrible quality, terrible service. Also the chef that they claim that they have and the menu online are not what's actually there. Don't expect any of the items online to be on the menu.

Well what the hell can i say. George (owner i suppose) greeted me and my guest enthusiastically. But it did not stop there. We ate some great fresh foods. Then offered a kayak joy ride. We came back for the live music that we saw posted for the Kit Carson lounge guests and restaurant guests. George was back and had 2 chairs available for us with his family. I dont think i had such a fun day and night in a while like that. We had other plans but stayed cause it was sooooo inviting and welcoming...and he didnt stop feeding us. I cannot say enough about how delicious the food was. Nor can i say enough of what a great man George was. Nor his family. The experience will always remain in our memories forever!. What a special night! Such great food and company! Cant wait to go back as this is a 2-3 time a year visit this way!
