Not much to say because it's closed for business. Golf course is decrepit. Restaurant and bar are empty. Nope. No sir. Not much going on here. There's some trails for walking on. Apparently not for riding a quad on though.

Don't understand why this shows open! Closed since January 2023. Doesn't anyone update? We are so sorry it is closed as they had the best prime rib dinner!

Darling place with great views. Pick between the golf course view or the fire place. Really classy indeed. Fried prawns were delish. Hot dog was good and HUGE!!! My only complaint is the fried chicken sandwich lacked flavor. Buffalo chips were really good and service was on point!

My wife and I been coming to this restaurant for the last seven years. Last Saturday I had reservations for twelve, all family members celebrating a special day together. If this restaurant had planned to do whatever it could to discourage a customers return, they couldn't have succeeded better. With only one couple in the dining room it took the waitress 15 minutes to set our table with menus and water; we had to ask for silverware later. When we finally got the menus, it took her another 10 minutes to take our order. This was just the beginning of a comedy of errors....without the laughs. When she brought the appetizers she spilled ranch dressing on my six year old granddaughter's hair. My granddaughter was stoic and kept a stiff upper lip. After she took our orders, by this time another two couples, had been seated, it took her 20 minutes to tell us that they didn't have anymore chili con carne. So we had to change our order. When the food was finally served, it took 15 minutes longer for two of our party to get their food! In the interim I noticed that the other tables had gotten their orders even though they had arrived a good half hour after we were seated. So much for the service, if you want to stretch the meaning! The food was terrible, the hamburgers were tasteless, the seafood was so, so. Our bill was over $300.00, and I've never felt so sorry to have to pay for such a terrible dining experience. Last night our neighbors invited us to dinner, when they mentioned the mountain grill, I told them I would never go there again....so we went to Saluti's in Jackson. Had a great meal!

I got a large piece of prime rib and a baked potato as a takeout order and really enjoyed it. I also recommend the fish and chips (my favorite lunch order). Probably the crispiest beer battered fish I've ever eaten. I'll definitely go back.

Tried to give this place a chance on many occasions but it has been a disappointment every time. We have tried lunch and dinner; everything from the steak dinners to their salads and sandwiches and nothing has been worth the money. Order chips and salsa and we paid over $8 for a small portion of dollar store Pace brand salsa and cheap chips, the pretzels are the pretzels you get from the freezer isle at the grocery store likely microwaved. We got the New York steak dinners, never given the warm rolls with butter as said on the menu, my steak and potatoes were very cold and my husband's were luke warm. Steaks were mostly gristle and tough. Salads, sandwiches and everything we have tried were prepackaged ingredients and unimpressive. We are TOTALLY understanding of being short staffed.. we are the most patient people but.. the wait for the food and the fact of it coming to the table COLD and barely warm is unacceptable. After working in the food industry for years and exploring local cuisine in Amador and calaveras counties, this is probably one of the more disappointing venues I have been to in the area . We don't mind waiting for fresh hot food but ours was neither. Salads, appetizers and other foods are pre packaged, frozen food. There is so much potential at this place, but their food lacks the love and passion that could make it a great culinary spot for our community to get together and enjoy. The staff was very nice and the view is pretty nice too is why I give them 2 stars. This place could be an amazing spot if they started making their own dishes instead of serving pre- made ingredients. Lack of love, creativity and passion in their food is evident.

Nice little place. Has a dog named "smokey" that roams around and barks, but then 10 minutes later is sitting at your bar stool looking for snacks. The food service ends at 4pm (we visited on a weekend) and you can eat in the bar. A lot of places in the area close up or offer limited services after summer, so plan accordingly.

Don't waste the trip to pioneer. No, their course has not gotten any better, me and my party modified the rules so we can move our ball onto the nearest patch of grass so we aren't constantly on dirt or in a gopher hole. Most of the fairways look like someone's backyard lawn that was left ignored for years.
