We had a lovely Cobb salad here. It’s surprisingly chilled correctly & fresh.
I ordered an Aztec mocha. I know this is supposed to be spicy but it tasted like there was a tablespoon on cayenne in it. I had to throw it away. I also ordered a small, light hot chocolate for my son. He charged me for a medium mocha. When I corrected him, he still charged me for a "custom" drink which was more than the coffee drinks.Though there is a sign asking for patience because they are short handed, his attitude sucked and he was slow as hell.I spent nearly $10 for two drinks that sucked. No thanks!
The staff is friendly, the breakfast burritos and sandwiches are so good. And the iced coffees are soooo good! If you can have patience, you’ll be so happy with the service here.
So glad the grinning bear has a new permanent location! They have the BEST vegan fried chicken sandwiches in the County. Everyone says their regular chicken sandwiches (especially the Nashbird) are fantastic too. Big portions for the price, and by far one of our favorite places in the area.
Now that grinning bear has joined pierside market, their sandwiches are excellent. I got the firebird sandwich and my gf got the shrimp po'bear and I was impressed with both!
The Chef behind the Grinning Bear Food Truck, specializing in fried chicken, has moved into this Marketplace. He handles all the fresh food, besides the Acai bowls and Cafe items. I must say, Chef Brenen's fried chicken is out of this world. I make a point to try fried chicken in every region I travel to, since it's such an annoying thing to make at home. His is definitely in my top 3. The only fried chicken I've had that comes close to as good (albeit entirely different styles) was from Spoon Trade, and another place in Hong Kong. I'm pretty stoked to have found an awesome casual place to get world class chicken from. Plus he seems to often handle the entire kitchen himself, and I personally know how hard that is. Thanks Chef!
Fantastic food, great service. Pay for an adult entree and get one kids meal free. Can't beat that deal!!
Small corner store vibes but with an açaí bowl station. I do believe they have some other food as well. Not an upscale place by any means. The açaí bowls were nice because you could choose different flavor based. We just went with plain açaí. There were a decent amount of toppings offered normally, but they were out of the granola and one other thing. It wasn’t a huge deal though. Big portions for the bowls, I enjoyed it.
Not gonna lie the environment inside didn't give me high expectations for the food, but I was blown out of the water with the ahi tacos! Definitely worth the price, they're delicious. The staff member recommended it to me when I couldn't make a decision so I also appreciate their helpfulness.
We stop in here for an acaí bowl every time we're in Pismo! Always such friendly service and a delicious treat.

This place is under ratedThe food is soo good i had the tacosHands down the best tacos I've ever had⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Acai bowls are on point & have an eclectic variety of bases & healthy toppings. Haven't tried the other food optioms or coffee yet but you're my favorite place for acai ?
I ordered three tacos from here since I’ve ordered them before and they looked/ tasted amazing…except this time they were horrible.First off, I asked the gentleman if they had avocado since the menu didn’t mention it but pictures seemed to have it..?.. I had asked because I’m allergic to avocado. I was told they do not.Second, the tacos looked like SH!T! They looked nothing like they used too. The shells weren’t as flavorful, the carnitas were bland, and overall just didn’t look picturesque like they use too.And finally……the first taco I inspected for avocado just in case, and thankfully no avo. So knowing that, I just dove right into the second one. I was about half way through when I noticed there was a layer of avocado at the bottom.I couldn’t finish eating them, I had to run to my car and grab my epi pen and take ibuprofen. Kinda sucked not gonna lie.
I really liked the açaí bowl I got here – you can choose multiple bases (I got açaí, blue majik & matcha) and unlimited fruits and toppings (cacao nibs, goji berries & granola for me). The staff were really sweet as well! We also got a basket of fries which you can order at any of the counters inside.
Three of us ate here together and two of us had burgers. Both of us got sick shortly afterwards from the meat on the burger. Not to mention the burger was subpar and I didn't finish it even though I was very hungry. Only getting a second star because our third friend got a poke bowl that I tried that was far better than our burgers. Overall, wouldn't recommend the food.
