Lisa, our server, was absolutely fantastic! Food was delicious. Overall, a wonderful meal.

The food, ambience, and service were excellent. My only complaint was that the woven chairs in the covered patio were fraying and unraveling with the loose strands catching on my wife's dress. I would hate to think what would happen if an expensive garment was torn as a result.

We had a great experience!! We were worried about this restaurant and some of the reviews were mixed. We loved our experience- great food quality, beautifully presented. Attentive servers. Will definitely be back!

This place has been closed for two years. It was replaced by Pequin

They forgot our appetizers. We starved for an hour while we watched others who sat down after us get their food. The valet guy kept insisting we had to give him $20 for the hour we parked although we spent $100+ for dinner and had our parking validation from the restaurant. Very disappointing.

We really enjoyed our Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinners at Penguin Coastal Cocina. Service was great for every meal. They make excellent drinks at the bar. Beautiful resort. Can't wait to go back. Love that place. 😊

Halibut ceviche was a bit bland but fresh. Churros with cognac for dessert was fab. Main issues with outdoor dining is annoying pop tune sound system - loud and inescapable - bummed because having tacos overlooking the pacific next to the beach at a fire pit during happy hour could be magical . Service : our waiter was impeccable! Five stars for her.

Food was creative the service was great..all the staff went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. We had dinner and breakfast during our visit..really enjoyed both. We were not staying at the hotel..we thought we would try the restaurant and glad we did..we will definitely return.

Excellent food, particularly the enchiladas! Service good too, and location great. Lots of action at the pool bar below us.

This hidden gem is inside of the Vespera Hotel! We absolutely loved the outdoor seating! We had a beautiful view the outdoor bar, the numerous amount of fire pits, the pool and the beach. We were greeted with very welcoming staff. We ordered a margarita flight, chicken taquitos, a wagyu flank steak and Barbacoa enchiladas. The food had an amazing presentation. The flavors were good. we definitely recommend the Barbacoa enchiladas and the chicken taquitos!

Vibrant atmosphere, sitting in the patio area, you can see the guests from the Marriott enjoying themselves. When we were there - live music, setting sun, etc. added to our experience. The staff was very attentive, food was excellent. This was our second visit to the restaurant and we will be back again.

We liked the restaurant and it just seemed like they had only been open for a short while. The soup and pork chop were amazing.

This was our first time visiting this restaurant, and it was quite a disappointment. The ceviche lacked acid and salt, my son ordered the Wagyu beef medium, it came well done when we told the chef it was well done, they said it was not! We also had the chicken mole Which was basically a boiled chicken thigh covered in mole sauce that tasted as if it had come from a jar. Service and location were the saving graces of the experience. We were offered to dessert because beef was overcooked, and the dessert was delicious. We were also offered a 15% discount for a five star review which we kindly declined since I could not in good consciousness give them five stars....we would NOT go back.

My wife and I spent her birthday weekend at the Vespera Resort in Pismo Beach. The hotel is fabulous and we loved it. Since I travel a lot, I will rarely eat at a hotel restaurant, because normally the prices are higher and the food mediocre. We prefer privately owned restaurants where the owner is present and offers top of the line service. With that in mind, our first night there we reluctantly booked a reservation at Pequin, expecting an expensive but so-so experience. We were very happy to find that it was one of the best meals we have had in a long time, and we dine out frequently. We had perhaps one of the best salads accompanied by a Pork Chop as a main course that was sliced and among the best I have had. The service was terrific. Across the board, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner at Pequin and were very happy. The hotel in general was very well run, the folks were responsive and friendly. From check in to room service and especially the restaurant were terrific. It is amazing what good sound management can do when they surround themselves with quality can do staff. We will return, keep up the good work.
