Spyglass Inn Restaurant

We were staying in Pismo and went looking for a restaurant to eat at when we came to the Spyglass Inn. We ate at a table in the bar with an amazing view. The drinks were great as was the food. The thing that was so cool about this place was the camaraderie of the locals at the bar. People who knew and didn't know each other were in great conversation with each other. It was great to see as well as to hear. We were sorry to here that this restaurant is going to close Nov 3rd. It is such a gem for locals to hang out as well as tourists like us to eat eat there and experience the great energy that happens there. I hope whoever takes it over remembers the locals who have supported it as well as the tourists who appreciate it's great food and energy.

I loved sitting outside. They had heaters if it got chilly. We loved our server, he was such a sweetie. The salmon was amazing!

We had the most fantastic meal. My salmon was so delicious. Its the way they prepare it with broiling in rum. My fiancee was accommodated with a crab linguine and there was just a lot of crab etc. Absolutely yum. Just a shame about the mist but noones fault.

don't have a surcharge to buy a gift certificate. Who does that? never will do again! that is plain stupid.

Tasty food and stunning location thoroughly let down by the worst service I have experienced during my otherwise amazing 2 week road trip through California. Too few staff and a noticeable reluctance to help each other out at busy times (like a dinner service which, I assume, occurs regularly here!). The employee who repeatedly walked past thirsty customers holding a big jug of water to refill “his” table’s glasses needs to have a stern word with himself ?

Cute place, outdoor seating was perfect with a gorgeous view. I ordered the bacon wrapped filet mignon unfortunately the food was cold when I received my plate. The veggies were cold and the steak was not flavorful. The mashed potatoes were warm. My husband ordered the fettuccine with chicken and his food was hot compared to mine. The service was good but food was a bit overpriced. I wish they would play some kind of music in the patio because I felt like I can hear all the conversations around me.
