The waiter and food were excellent. He recommended the shredded beef birria tacos, sopes, and lobster mac for dinner entrees. He was not wrong. Amazing Mexican food and freshly made tortillas on the side.

The atmosphere in this restaurant is very nice and there is a beautiful ocean view from many of their tables. The staff is great--especially our waitress, and we enjoyed their food. In fact, it was so good that we went there two nights.

Excellent cocktails and wine selection. We each had margaritas and wine. We even went back to the bar after dinner for more drinks. Great bartenders and service. Nice atmosphere. It was cloudy at sunset so we missed it but would have been great if it was clear that night. I had the clam and mussels in a chorizo tomato based broth that was very good. My main meal was a salad with chicken. Tasty and lots of chicken. Husband had the pork chop said it was good. Service was great. Very close to our hotel. We recommend.

Great ocean view, our waitress was exceptional, wine list was extensive and reasonably priced, and food was amazing. My seafood pasta had shrimp, clams, mussels, salmon and scallops and was delicious!

Overlooking the water. Great place for seeing the sunset - although I don’t think it sets over the water. We made a pit stop and had dinner.

From the time we were greeted my Maria, the manager, we had an exceptional experience!!! Maria remembers us and makes us feel special! The staff is always checking on us to see if we need anything. Our waiter, Dan, was the best...always smiling, anticipating our needs and quick to make sure we are enjoying our meal & refilling our champagne!! The brunch selection is amazing and always yummy! We never have room to experience everything that grabs our attention. We must have the fresh tortillas at every visit!! Can't say enough about the fresh seafood selection...beautiful!! We will be back soon....and so should you!👍🏼

I do not take the time to write reviews unless my experience has been unusually great or unusually bad. Unfortunately, our recent dining experience at Ventana was one of our worst dining experiences for us ever, for several reasons! WHY VENTANA?: We were actually married at the gazebo behind Ventana, and had our reception at the Ventana Grill. We returned to celebrate our 20th anniversary, with fond memories of their views and food. When we made the reservation, we were asked if it was for a special occasion, and we informed them it was our anniversary and we asked to be seated at or near a window for this special occasion. They said a complimentary dessert would be included and they would try to seat us at a window. FOOD: The margarita was watered down and only 1/2 of the rim was salted. The calamari appetizer was small rings, and many stuck together with a thick breading that made it difficult to enjoy. The Seafood Penne contained 2 shrimp, 2 large sea scallops but mostly tiny bay scallops, and the smallest clams I have ever seen (about the size of a pea). THIS IS PISMO BEACH...THE HOMES OF PISMO CLAMS AND SEAFOOD !!!!! My wife's salmon was advertised to be “encrusted” but instead it was “blackened.” This resulted in very different and unwelcome seasoning and a very dry salmon that was difficult to eat. Our waitress was either having a very bad day or just did not like her job and it showed with everything she did and said. The language barrier did not help when we asked questions about the menu items, and she never looked at us...did not engage with us in any way, never returned to check on us after the meal was served. At the end of the meal there was no offer of the free celebratory dessert, but we didn't ask because we were anxious the leave by then. Sorry to report that this was a terrible experience for both of us, all around.

Great table, great view, great sunset... and great service! One of our all-time favorite places!

Server was rude. Fresh fish special was frozen farm raised salmon. Would not accommodate any modifications to dish due to allergies. Sloppy presentation. Soups were good.

I took my 86 year-old mother there for brunch. Our waitress was slow and had to come back three times to ask us what we wanted to drink. We were halfway through our food before she brought them. We had bloody Mary's when we finally got them, They were just vodka and tomato juice no seasonings whatsoever and a celery stick but they had a good poor 👍. I didn't eat any dessert, but I was told that they were good. I loved the clam chowder. The ham was dry. we were one of the first people there so the food didn't have time to get dried out like that. We didn't try the omelette station or waffles. The enchiladas were sweet. The view was awesome. My husband says we won't be going back there. He was disappointed.

Food was amazing! We had the steak, molcajete, a chicken steak dish, pozole. The steak had a delicious glaze on it and a nice smoky flavor and the pozole was seasoned perfectly. Would have had a nice view of the bay except the fog came in. Our server Alberta was so attentive and caring. Our kiddo loved his quesadilla and some of my steak plus the yummy desserts. Definitely coming back.

Arrived with a reservation for late afternoon and still waited approximately 20 minutes for a table. When seated, there were open booths near the window looking towards the ocean, but we were seated next to a family with a fussy baby at the interior tables. We were a couple seeking a relaxing meal. We ordered the nachos that did not have much in the way of toppings except peppers of which the dish was covered in them. The entrees and cocktails were fresh and the homemade tortillas were good. Overall an average experience for a location and menu that should rate outstanding.
