My first time experience at this restaurant was horrible. I don't know if that's miss lady Jay but she is rude. She is not friendly and I ordered the neck bones. I'm eating my neck stick and it's all good. And it really was tasty to. The lady came in order in ordered the same thing I ordered in her neck. Bones looked way fresher. She even looked at my plate and says you would like you got some old neck bones. My experience was horrible and I wouldn't not be back! As well as my meal cost in $30. I ordered some more rice and gravy. The rice was hard. My neck bones and rice that rice was more tender. Then the satirize I bought for $5. My style race was hard and I had absolutely no gravy in it again. I won't be back. Yelling, got to worry about me.

Bring your Sunday best and enjoy every item on their menu. We randomly found this awesome soul food destination. The Mac & cheese was seasoned to perfection and layered with good grades of cheese.Now let's talk about those heaven sent oxtails! The sauce/gravy should be consumed as a beverage since it's truly refreshing ?. You truly taste the herbs and the oxtails had a healthy amount of ? beef. Most venues serve fatty oxtails.The sides take your taste buds back to your childhood thanksgiving. I especially enjoyed the stuffing and collard greens.We shall return, the owner and staff treated us as though we were family!!

I ordered delivery from Lady's J's for the first time I reside in Concord CA, and it was absolutely delicious ? what I ordered was the deluxe Neck bones dinner and I Tore that food up it was worth every cent and I would definitely order again the only negative thing I would say is less pepper ?️ and a little more love for the yams other that it was superb ???

I found Lady J's Soul Food online when we were looking for a non-chain restaurant in the area. The reviews were accurate... The food was very good ? and the service by a young Lady who worked there was awesome!The restaurant has a lot of carryout orders, but we decided to eat informally there. Not once did she not check on us even while getting the to-go orders ready for pickup.I had the rib dinner... huge, tender ribs... with potato salad, greens and cornbread. ?

I first like to say this restaurant. The people are very nice with a great personality. Place is clean but they're lacking in the preparation of the food sometimes I go. The yams taste great sometimes I go yam's are hard , They need help on the Mac and cheese. It just tastes like cheese and water down noodles. Pork chops, smothered and gravy are good with lots of flavor some days the corn bread is good. Some days the corn bread is too hard. In other words, is not consistent with their daily menu. You never know what you're gonna get, Somedays the spaghetti is great. Some days its watery the cabbage taste watery with a whole bunch of pepper in it oh yeah. They just need more practice on some of the food that they serve there if they can put a little bit more time into the food and flavor because they personalities are great. They show lots of love and hospitality. Hands down. I will recommend anybody there, but it's a no for me. I've went there so far, 3 times tried different things. An if you're yams And macaroni and cheese is bad every time are majority. Of the time, that's bad for a soul food restaurant. Because who don't look for yams in Mac and cheese when they're going to get soul food and in reference to the greens. I'm gonna give them a number 4 on the greens.

The fried pork chops were juicy and tasty! The yams could use a little love with some more sweetness and sauce. Corn bread was nice and fluffy. I liked that they have a family meal. I’m a little confused on greens they were good but idk they tasted a little burned or idk if that’s the flavor they give them. Customer service can be better the lady just handed me the food didn’t say hi or thank you when I picked up the food. Sadly as a black owned restaurant you gotta come with it and be on point at all times with food and service because sad to say you’re gonna get judged 10x harder than any other race. That’s just how it is. Overall though I will be back!

Great food. Fish is fried to perfection. I do wish they offered red snapper though. Mac and cheese is good. Greens are good but a little spicy. They should leave out the spice and let us add hot sauce/red pepper flakes to our taste. Other than that great food.
