I love their deserts. Their cakes never disappoint.
I ordered the cake for our anniversary, Irma was very patient and wrote down all the details, this one star is for her but the cake we picked up next day was terrible as if it was done by learner or a young child. Border was damaged, writing was really terrible( part of it was already smudged), colors used for icing/ frosting were darker than my order. Since I had no other option at the last minute so I had to take it . And when we tasted it, Frosting was ‘super’ extra sweet and cake was not well moistened. Disappointing!! I bought Safeway’s pre made / ready made cakes in the past and they were lot better than this pre ordered one. I really wish Safeway Bakery improve it’s standard.
Had I been thinking, I would have posted a picture of what we received after placing an order on Friday May 6th, in person as instructed, for a whole apple pie at this bakery for pick up on Sunday(Mothers Day). Apparently, this site no longer offers whole 11inch apple pies unless you place an order at least 24 hours in advance, in person. Being that it was right before Mothers Day weekend and my mom loves this apple pie, I did exactly that. The two young people that took my order, seemed like they didnt know this was an option and offered two half's instead to which I declined because for one it would have been a $1 or $2 more than the whole and plain and simple, my mom wanted what she wanted. Since I had called that day to make sure I could place the order before going in person, I didnt think it would be an issue. Although, I didn't like the attitudes of the two young people taking my order (one a 6'7 or 6'8 gentleman and a young lady) because they didn't seem to be familiar with customer service, I had never been disappointed with this location, I trusted this request would work fine. To our dismay, I go pick up the pie on time on Mothers Day and in my haste get it home, didnt realize that not only had two halves been put in place as the whole pie but they had been put in a previously used container. It had an old label on it that they had tried to remove but didn't completely. My mom even tried to make the most out of it and going against her better judgement, probably trying to make me feel better, attempted to cut the pie only to find it was old and not fresh. I was too upset to go back up there but my mother went back to show the supervisor of the bakery and came back with a half a key lime pie and a pound cake. I asked if she paid for these items and she said they exchanged the pie for them. She said the bakery supervisor seemed shocked and that she never even received the order request! I am so disappointed in this! Why would they charge my mother for the two items when the order for the pie was placed and this was evidenced by the receipt the supervisor was provided? Horrible experience and I frequent this location often. I'd rather go out of my way to Lucky in Martinez, Nob Hill or Raileys.
Wry bad energy at this grocery store
convenient location. but the hot soup area really needs to be cleaned a few times during the day..
Not-So-Safeway: The only store I've ever seen lock up their basic hygein items like toothpaste behind a liquor cabinet.
Nice food to go
Only major grocery store in area. Check-out lines very slow even the quick check-out. Clerks too chatty.
I love this Safeway friendly staff & clean and organize store.
Free newspaper if you go today.

Awesome beer selection
Worst lines only come if u have to
The staff here aren't as professional and cooperative as the team at Safeway on 4th and King St, SF.
If ever you are looking for something particular, look in the last place you think you should find it and there it will be. Nothing is ever in its place here.
Doors on Starbucks side close at 9pm.
