Myyyy goodness. Their Sushi is so delicious. My favorite is 49er roll, California rolls. I don't know what they do to the rice. But it's delicious and their fish is fresh and sooo yummy! Melts in your mouth. GREAT SUSHI!

I love this place because they make the best California Rolls ever!! And just so ya’ll know I’m not into eating sushi ? mainly due to some OCD/Phobias associated with eating RAW meat on any kind of level. So I’ll only eat the California Roll or ones pretty similar. However I have dated people and have a current boyfriend who do eat all types of sushi ? and my boyfriend has eaten at many many different sushi restaurants not only all around California but in the United States and he LOVES this place and says it’s his favorite sushi restaurant!!

There was no sushi to go. They only offered rice bowls for a to go menu and nothing else besides a kids menu of the same things.I expect to be able to order sushi.

Horrible sushi. Not fresh at all. They sell Korean food too. Got the Spicy Korean pork for $16. The worst I have ever tasted. It was a precooked dry pork chop that was sliced and sautéed in a sauce not even close to what you get at a Korean restaurant. Had to throw it away. Don't go. You have been warned.

I ordered 1 roll here and the lady told me "5 minutes" but it was 40 minutes i sat in there waiting for my food. The reason being that they were prioritizing huge doordash orders before even starting my food.....Im never coming back here again.Theres no reason she should have lied saying 5 minutes had she been honest saying 30 minutes or more i would have just left.

This was my first time here and I usually judge a place by their sashimi and OMG it was excellent and so big. This will probably be my new place for sushi! So glad I found this place

This is my go-to for Sushi and Sashimi. The kitchen staff, the servers, an Mike are the best! If I could I'd eat here daily! We've been going here for the last ten years, we only go other places when our yearning is while Samurai X is closed or we're out of town. In the past 4 days, we've gone here 3 times!

first time and last time. i spent almost $200 and everything was nasty. The bulgogi was dry like they used old meat that was sitting in the pot all day. i was stationed in Korea and have tried numerous Bulgogi and this place was not it. Orange chicken was nasty. Sushi was not that great especially for the price. I would've been satisfied with Panda express. The price range for Pittsburg and the food quality just don't match. will never set my foot on this place again. If your thinking of going here don't go. Those 4stars in yelp is a lie. more like 2-3 star

Tonight we tried a couple sushi rolls and fried gyoza, as an appetizer. The gyoza was delicious, and the sauce is definitely tastier than most places. I think we may have been unlucky to try this place on a night their sushi rice was not made well. I think either someone spilled too much vinegar in the sushi rice, or they used a different vinegar to cover for missing the right sushi vinegar. Either way, it wasn't done right, and impacted our sushi rolls because all you could taste was sour vinegar. It was really disappointing because I can tell everything else was cooked and prepared perfectly--and likely the sushi would have been epic. I'm not going to let this sour experience prevent me from trying this place a second time. Hoping it isn't a trend.

I only gave them 3 stars 29 days ago. But Unfortunately this location has gone down hill even further. Orders three rolls yesterday. The Sunflower, 49er, and CA roll. The rice was extremely dry and hard. Fish was ok, the slicing of the rolls were very uneven, the end of the rolls were huge and to big to dip and eat in one bite so they just fell apart. Worst was the tempura shrimp in the sunshine roll. Freezing cold and the breading was so soggy it seemed they cooked them days before and just kept them in the fridge.Since we only have three sushi restaurants in Pittsburg, I probably will still come here but only order Sashimi.
The quality of the sushi is very high. They are pleasant and have great service. We enjoy every meal we've eaten there. Their salmon sashimi is high grade.

UPDATE: I have moved from Pittsburg to Concord, and miss Samurai X SO MUCH!! I cant find sushi here anywhere near as good as my special place in Pittsburg! Move restaurant to Concord? You are the BEST!This is the freshest, best sushi anywhere. I've tried restaurants all over the Bay Area, including in the city. This is the best I've ever had, and I wont go anywhere else. Really, you need to try this place. Nice people, fish like velvet...it's just heaven.

My go to sushi spot that is between Concord and Brentwood! Always fresh, friendly direct service. Never had an issue with any of their rolls. Ordered many different rolls for Valentine's and it did not disappoint!
