Some of the best Mexican I’ve had and I’ve had a lot. First of all, you are alittle worried about how it looks alittle run down, but then you find out it’s been here for 75 years and the people running it have been doing so for 50 years. The food is amazing and they start your meal with chips and guacamole long with traditional picked carrots, onion and jalapeños. The salsa is very hot but so fresh and delicious. It’s all vary traditional, but is California style crispy tacos. Trust me you love the food! Service can be alittle slow, be patient , it’s worth it

Best wet burrito chile verde aslo Hard shell Taco chicken
Great taste on food
Great food. Great prices! Best hard shelled chicken tacos ever!!
What I like about 301 is that it's just down the street from where I live which makes it so convenient. I don't have to drive far to get good authentic Mexican food. The decor could use some upgrades to something more modern. The server is very sweet and nice. They could use more servers though instead of one person doing everything. I like the pickled carrots, chips and quacamole. The jukebox is pretty cool. The beer is served in a nice ice cold mug. Good place to eat for a reasonable price. I ordered the chicken hard tacos it was okay I didn't care for the chicken it was bland, but still eatable
The best in the world
This has been the best place I’ve ever ate at. We came here as a family spontaneous and honestly it’s the best food we’ve ever had. So affordable as well. 4 drinks for whole entrees for $40. And the ambient is so amazing. You feel at home. Words can’t describe how much we loved the food and this place. I can’t wait to bring more of my family to eat here
Love 301, we come at least once a week.

Glad to know it's still going strong. Used to frequent 301 when a student at CSUF in early 1970's. Congratulations.
This place is a blast from the past and locals live it. I have been here at least twenty times in the last couple of years and enjoy the low prices, good food and the very friendly & helpful service. The food is old school SoCal Mexican food at great prices and can be hit or miss depending on the dish. Chicken in the tacos isn't great but carnitas and asada are good. Try the combos with Enchilada, tamale, Chile relleno or taquitos. Decor is the same as it was in the 60's and is like something from a Tarantino movie. It looks like there should be some bikers hanging out in the back and you should be able to smoke inside (you can't, and there aren't). The taquitos are handmade and they give you chips, salsa (very spicy), guacamole and pickled carrots when you sit down. Beers are cheap and the jukebox rocks. You should definitely try it out.

My wife and I have been coming here for over 40 years! The food is outstanding and authentic. It’s a bit of a hole in the wall spot and as such offers no real ambience or atmosphere, but if you’re “in the know” you know this is the place to go for authentic delicious Mexican food
Wheelchair accessibility: There is wheelchair accessible parking nearby and a ramp leading into the front door. There are no wheelchair accessible restrooms.

A hidden long time standing og home cooked with love. No changes since as far back as i can remember from early 90s decor, cd jukebox that sometimes eats your money to the dusty gumball machine that’s doesn’t work. Or could the dim lights or the restroom with a door not easily opening. Gotta have love the the originals and real authentic salsa, chips carrots and can’t go wrong with enchiladas, hard tacos or their known chile calorado burrito ??
