The food was very good, if a bit messy with too much sauce. Friendly staff and fair seating. Worth it for a more casual, but quality outing.

Nice selection whether looking for something light or more filling. Very reasonable prices. Best of all they deliver to Hueneme (and accept cash).

I consistently love the sandwiches from Boar's Breath! They make awesome sandwiches and fries. When my husband is out late from work I always have him stop by here for our favorite sandwiches and burgers. We love the Reuben and the kids really love the fries that come with it! It' s our best place for sandwiches! I highly recommend it!

After yelping the "best Reuben sando in oxnard/ventura", we decided to try boars breath grill. Small place with s few tables, 3 large screen tv's--a plus as world cup was on! Very friendly employee to take our order but unfortunately no reubens that day---bummer. However the cuban was excellent--a bit spicy-excellent meat and cheese/pickle. Wife had the pulled pork which was huge and delish. Very good value!! Will be back but will call ahead to make sure they can make me a Reuben next time.

We tried Boar's Grill for the first time. We considered them because we were looking for someone who served patty melts. Unsure of the menu, I also ordered the Cuban Sandwich. SERVICE: The lady took our order, all well. Food was packaged for pick-up. Took only 15min. I also enjoyed the smiley face on the container :) FOOD: We really enjoyed our sandwiches! The patty melt could have been a hair more toasted, but was really good. My only 5 to 4 star is because of the grease. Fix your face. I know we ordered fried foods. Nevertheless, maybe a food to towel/newspaper, to container method would have been cool (chuckle). I'm not really saying the did not use that method, but I had to wipe my fingers twice holding my Cuban Sandwich and same with the onion rings. I've had onion rings before, so, just saying. WELL: Will we return? Of course. The sandwiches were good. I'll just bring some gloves lol.

Always a fan favorite, they deliver on port hueneme naval base Ventura and have a great dine in area as well. Great service and offer military discounts. Also ask them to put in your phone number so you can acquire point for free things like drinks food etc. Workers were very nice checking up on us and asking what we thought of the food and what they could do better. Food was hot and served quickly. Tasted great! This is a place you can come to multiple times a month and it never gets old. If you haven't tried the boars breath your missing out

I have been searching for the perfect pastrami sandwich and I finally found one! I had one in Ireland and ever since I've been sad to not find a great option locally. This sandwich was so good I didn't even take a photo. It was inhaled! Lol. Perfect rye bread, perfect meat and cheese ratio and the right amount t of mustard and pickles. I highly recommend trying this place!

This place was decent and the food portions are pretty large . Customer service kind of lacks but overall it was an okay experience . I felt terrible for one woman who was sitting there when I walked in as they somehow lost her order and they didn't realize it until after I had my order and was almost done eating . I ordered a chili cheeseburger which came open face with fries and a cold beer which hit the spot ! I would probably eat here again because the food was good and priced reasonably.

If you want a burger, gourmet sandwich, French fries, frosty beer, and sports on large monitors, the Boar's Breath is the place to go. All of their food is outstanding, their service impeccable, and the ambience fits the Gold Coast location. My favorites include the House Rueben, the garlic fries, the Italian (a cold cut sub), the Not You Mama burger (with a fried egg on top) and their Gyros. This place is perfect for lunch during the week, and for weekend sports.

Terrible experience, place has gone downhill. Went here for lunch with my family. Ordered the Philly cheesesteak without bacon. Came out different than described on the menu. Husband took it back to the counter and was told that’s how they make the cheesesteak, it was traditional but, that’s NOT what the menu said. So he ordered a different sandwich, in the meantime my kids food came out, they ate. For 45 minutes food was delivered to other tables finally my husband went to ask and they “forgot” to make us our sandwich. Asked us to wait but I was on my lunch hour and had no time. The owner spoke to my husband and was not apologetic and blamed him for not knowing what a Philly Cheesesteak was, um hello read your menu!! We will NOT return.

First time here and it wasn’t bad. The variety of food and the people working there was great. Thank you for all you do. I was with coworkers and they all were trying different things. I was so hungry and I wanted something simple. I bought the kick double burger with fries. I gave four stars because I wanted to try a beer, out of a cold glass but I couldn’t at the time.

I heard about this establishment awhile ago from a recommendation. I tried to dine here previously but it was a Monday and they were closed. On a whim I ended up in the area and decided to give it a try. I ordered one of the Specials of the day the Monte Cristo one of my fav sandwiches. The cashier informed me it was non-traditional savory without jam/jelly or powdered sugar cooked on the flat top grill not fried. I was totally open and prefer grilled to fried anyhow. I ordered tater tots as a side to complete my total splurge. The sandwich was sized well and the tots plentiful. I was informed the sandwich was traditional turkey, ham, Swiss cheese and spicy mustard. I requested to substitute cheddar cheese and regular yellow mustard. When I started to eat the sandwich i noticed right away a very spicy kick that burnt my tongue. I'm very sensitive to spices and heat due to medical reasons. After trying to compose myself from the pain experience due to spiciness I did inform the cashier. She was completely apologetic and clarified with the cook what exactly happened and what was on the sandwich. Per the Cook the recipe they were using included spicy Capicola instead of ham however that was not the information she was provided. The cashier was so sweet and said they would remake the sandwich and since they were out of ham she offered me extra turkey instead. I was very understanding and greatly appreciated they were very apologetic and wanted to make things right. I was very pleased with my remade sandwich and tater tots. My husband wanted to go all out and ordered the pastrami sandwich with a side of onion rings. He was impressed with his sandwich and said it was delicious. He was very pleased that the pastrami was chopped and not just big huge chunks of meat like you get at some restaurants. I tried one of his onion rings because they looked so appetizing and OMG they were delicious! He ended up taking half a sandwich home because it was a size able portion. We also ordered the other Special of the day a Cuban sandwich to take home to our son. Our son loves Cuban sandwiches he said it was really flavorful. He enjoyed the pan bolillo that it was served on as well. I unfortunately forgot to get a picture before he scarfed it all down but believe me it was well received. This is a Mom and Pop grill/deli where you order at the counter and the food is brought out to you when it's ready. The interaction we had primarily was with the cashier. She was wonderful, had a great personality with a smile on her face. I saw some reviews that were not so positive here on Yelp. However I recommend you try the food yourself first. Maybe we were lucky? Maybe we had a different experience? Who knows. However I do know that I am quite picky due to my dietary restrictions and I was very pleased with the food and service experienced here.
