I usually love this place for the nava roll but something was different today. Spicy tuna looked different too. I'm bummed. I've had the nava roll several times here and it's excellent and my favorite but today was a disappointment. Hope it was just an off day. I'm giving it 3 based off history.

Found this spot at the beginning of the year and it has become our new favorite sushi spot. It honestly exceeded our expectations as we are afraid to try another spot. Our go to order is 2 Laker Rolls & 1 Maya Roll which both have cream cheese in them. Maya comes with jalapeños inside, the other doesn't. The food comes super fresh out the deep fryer which is the best part. You can't go wrong with these. It's pretty common sense blowing on your food before you take a bite to avoid burning yourself. As for service, our waitress always greets us cheerfully every time we come. She remembers us & allows us to sit wherever we're comfortable. There is the sushi bar area or table seating. She always checks in making sure everything is going well. Dining area is bit small but our table is always clean with chopsticks. The vibes are casual not too fancy. Another thing to note for the best service and quality, avoid dinner rush hours. Expect to pay $40+ for two including drinks, no appetizers.

I went here today and walked out when I seen the kid making the sushi I ordered NOT wearing any gloves on his hands. Ido NOT recommend this going here.

Amazing sushi option. Best in town in my opinion. You'll find your standard rolls as well as fun & inventive options. Pink panther is not to be missed!

I went to this place after a lovely walk near the beach. I just picked this place on a fly and it really hit the spot. I ordered green tea and some tempura udon. I really liked the udon the tempura was fresh and crisp. My family ordered a roll and it looked amazing. The food presentation was well done, service was super helpful and spot on. Honestly this will probably be a spot for me when I visit my family.

My friend ordered takeout from here. After they got home, they noticed that at least one item was omitted (but paid for) and called it in. The woman who answered said they realized it was omitted after the order was picked up. My friend asked it could be taken off the tab, and she said she would. That never happened. Called back a few weeks later after she got her credit card statement. Yukiko answered, took down all the info, and said someone would call back. Then a woman named Alina called back asking for all the info (again), and then said MAYBE the owner will call back to fix it but he's never really around and they can't do anything anyways. (what?!)Incorrect order, bad service. They had multiple chances to make this right easily. Note: The sushi was mediocre for the price, but a ripoff when taking to account for the service.

The chef talked to make a custom roll similar to an existing one it ended up costing more so I felt a little scammed. They also have Mexican music which definitely makes it feel like Mexican food.

Sushi was not at all what I am used to. See through slices on too of rolls, not properly wrapped and white rice almost looked brown.

The food was great and the service was awesome. The servers were funny and outgoing, We came at lunch so we were the only ones in the restaurant. It's a bit small and dingy. Would probably stop back again.Vegetarian options: There are a hand full of vegetarian options not much though.Parking: Parking is in the back or on busy channel islands blvd

Amazing sushi rolls, quick service, very attentive staff. If y'all are in Port Hueneme and are craving sushi, you have to come here. The rolls to me felt bigger than most other places which was great. One thing that was also good is that they had a few more beers outside of the typical selection (Sapporo, Asahi, Kirin) like Lagunitas. Definitely going to have to go here more often.
