The quality was top-notch.
From the moment I stepped into the place i got weird vibes and looks. Was told an hour wait for food all the while people are clearing out and the kitchen staff are standing there staring at me. I wouldn't come back here if the food was free.

We had dinner there tonight we had 3 of us ordered the half rack of ribs and 2 ordered the grilled cheese sandwiches and even those picky eaters loved their meal. Only 1 waiter so he was really busy so we kept an open mind about that but he was very kind the whole time even when we had a whole cup of water get knocked over by accident. The portion size was good for the price. The only sad thing was it is really warm in there but we made it without sweating. 👍🏼👍🏼
Very clean, great food and friendly atmosphere i will definitely stop and eat there again

Very beautiful restaurant interior and amazing food!
Loved the ribs and creme brulee
Definitely coming back any time I am in the area
Food was decent. Service was fantastic, waitress was friendly, quick and knowledgeable. Service was fast. Prices were a tad bit expensive. For an Omelet, hashbrowns, coffee 20.00.
First time I've been there since they updated the menu, had the South style salad (I think that was the name) and it was absolutely amazing! Great service and food. they just got their beer and wine license and the bar is now open, they have a pool table, a foosball table and a great looking bar. I'll definitely be back!
The manager was soooooo awesome! Him and his brother seem to predominantly run this place. The food is their own recipes, that are DELICIOUS! These two guys know what they’re doing. They have revamped the menu and are constantly testing meals to see what people in the area prefer. If you’re going for dinner, I recommend the Chicken Alfredo (the best I’ve EVER had) or the Chicken Parmesan! The crème brûlée is a must have too. It is absolutely to die for! We will be returning!

Ceasar Salad and Seafood Fettucine. Both tasted great!
New owner seems to be ambitious and have good culinary experience. Food was very good, made on demand, and came out fairly quickly. Had a burger, fish and chips, and Shepards pie. All were excellent!
No drinks available now but the owner said it would be 2 weeks before they had a liquor license.
Overall really pleasant and I want to see this place succeed.
Food was exceptional, service very nice and professional. First time I could take my coat off and enjoy my meal, it was not freezing!
Super clean. All around just a nice place to be.
They had a large group to deal with while we were there, and it slowed the process down, but we weren't in a hurry, and our waiter and server were friendly and accommodating. Good meatloaf and greenbeans. Had some good looking desserts but too full to try them out.
We loved going to the MVC in its old location. Staff was always friendly and happy to see us even when busy.
New location needs some polishing for sure. But it’s been closed for years and after all it’s Portola. Not many polished places in Portola.
The food has always been solid. Never astounding but what you’d expect from a small town dinner. Decent portions, hot, tasty, pretty fast and inexpensive for what you get.
So we’ll be back AND we’ll be thankful and supportive of a small family run business working hard to make a living in a small rural town.
Cheers
