This was a wonderful place to visit. The owner, retired British chemist. John Saunders, is a very pleasant host. He will tell you everything you want to know about his wine making process. He uses at least eight different Italian grapes which I counted. A few of the wines were a little too dry for our taste, but the BPx and the newly minted Barbera were excellent. The view is spectacular as well. Best value tasting out there for sure.
Lovely Italian inspired wines
Absolutely wonderful place!! Great views, great wine, and the BEST staff!! John and his son were so lovely to talk with and incredibly hospitable. Shoutout to their sweet pup Max! It was a 10/10 experience and would recommend it to anyone.
Beautiful scenic views, wonderful family owned winery with delicious wines. This was our first experience wine tasting in Ramona and it was wonderful. Highly recommend to stop in for a tasting.
Lovely little gem serving Italian style wines. We really enjoyed the wines and views. Will definitely come again!
When a former chemist meets a winery you get Poppaea. Nothing about this place is about profit - it’s about a love for Italian wine varietals, breathing in fresh air, and making friends. One of my favorite wineries in Ramona.
Love the wines here. John is an awesome host. We will definitely be back!
This was a great experience. The owners, a father/son team from England, are really a pleasure to talk to, and they have a lot of love for these Italian wines. It was really interesting to learn about the relationship between Primitivo, Zinfandel, and Tribidrag.Seating is indoor/outdoor, and the indoor section was cooled to 80, which was a welcome relief on a hot day. There's also a proper restroom, which is nice. Most wineries in the area have a porta-potty, which may or may not be important to some folks. It's worth noting that most of the wines on the tasting menu had noticeable tannins. I enjoyed it, but my wife would have liked some relief - so you may want to bring some cheese if you think you'd like some relief as well.Great experience, great price, and great facility.
Absolutely beautiful vineyard, with stunning vistas from the patio. Also helped by having some delightful wines to taste ( and buy), and the owners/winemakers were a joy to talk to about wine.
Great wine and an amazing experience!

Very friendly staff. Great wine, great views and reasonable prices what else could you want
A friendly Englishman and his son run this beautiful little winery. He was a chemist in his previous life so the tastings were served in little beakers. So cute! They were very welcoming and we enjoyed their $12 tasting of 6 wines. They even shared their delicious coffee cake with us!
We love this winery! Everyone is so friendly and their wine is among our favorites in Ramona. I’m particular I like the Sagrantino. Check them out, you won’t be disappointed!
Great place.
The best Italian wine in California, bar none!
