Great experience at VGJ. It was a beautiful days, the wines were delicious, I think his name was Jacque(?) (the husband) was so kind and I loved hearing his stories, and we got to play with "Bad dog #3" who is the prettiest lady ever.
Wines wise, this is a gem winery with great wines at affordable prices. (+) Sauvignon Blanc - very gentle notes of minerality and smoothness (+) Volantis - we bought a bottle of this cab blend (+) Cab sauv (+) Negroamaro (+) Whiskey syrah - also bought a bottle of this to take home

What a beautiful vineyard with an amazing staff! We love VGJ because of how welcoming the staff is, how good the wine is, how beautiful the scenery is, and that fact that it is a dog friendly place. Bonis: You can bring in your own food to enjoy with your wine. If you are looking to escape from SD for a peaceful vineyard getaway for an afternoon, VGJ is a great destination to do so. 😊

We recently visited the winery for the first time. It was a very enjoyable experience! We were served by Jacque, who is quite a host and wonderfully friendly. We later met Susanne who sat and explained her journey into wine. All the wines were quite enjoyable! We took home a bottle of Negroamaro and Sangiovese. We suggest you try this winery. The wines and ownership make it worth the drive!

Fantastic place. This is the quaintest vineyard I have ever been. Hosts were fantastic. Vines were great. Whiskey Syrah stood out. We went there on a rainy, kind of coldish day, but the overall experience made up for the weather.

A wonderful and relaxing Sunday afternoon wine tasting at Vineyard Grant James! The outdoor patio with comfortable seating features views of distant hills, the vineyard, and a dramatic sunset.We tasted five excellent wines, and I selected to purchase and take home the Aquarius – a delightful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petite Sirah.The friendly and welcoming vibe made the wine tasting experience even more enjoyable and made me eager to return very soon!
