It was my first time going to 85°c bakery and I was underwhelmed. It just seemed like a regular bakery to me, although locals absolutely rave about it and I even encountered a customer who traveled from Adelanto CA. The location is easy to get to and easy to find. The ambiance is simple and bright with a simple grab and pay method with cakes and pastries being held behind the counter. You can grab the fresh baked goods yourself and pay at the register. I ordered the cream cheese pastry, a cinnamon roll, and almond halfmoon bread which tasted odd odd odd. But the cream cheese pastry was divine just the right amount of sweet, not overpowering like other places. I would come back for the cream cheese pastry and to try knew things IF I'm in the AREA.

Website needs to update Hours for Halloween. Last time I remembered Halloween is not a federal holiday.
I’m just wondering when are you guys be able to do “less ice” in my drink. Everytime I said or pick “ less ice” it’s always more than half cup of ice! Always! Never failed! This cup is after I finished the drink and still with so much ice in there.

I bought a birthday cake yesterday and only opened it right before cutting it. To my surprise, the cake was already damaged, a big piece was clearly messed up. I first checked the box carefully, and it was completely clean, which means the cake wasn’t damaged during transport. It must have happened when the staff packed it.
What’s most disappointing is that the damage was obvious, there’s no way they didn’t notice it, yet they still chose to give it to me like that. This was a birthday cake that a child had been so excited about, and seeing it in that condition was really upsetting. Very disappointed with this experience.

Good pastry and drink but if I have to wait 20 minutes (after ordering), I probably have better options

There food backed/sweet is good.
They were busy when I went there on a weekend. The lady at the counter thought it would be too time consuming if she could have shown me what am I about to buy from there. Not every customer is 100% aware of what you have and might need some help deciding on what to buy.
I was happy to find this place. After having been blown away by the bakeries in Seoul and Tokyo, I was hoping to find something back in the states that could come close. This place is about as probably as close to those bakeries in Korea and Japan as we can hope for. They had a few items that I really liked when I was in Seoul. Like the cream filled cruffin. Very good and not over priced.
*update* Over the past year I have been here dozens of times and everything has been great. My favorite, and probably most expensive item, is the coffee cruffin. UNFORTUNATELY, every time that I get it, it has less and less cream filling to the point where the last time it was about a 1% cream to cruffin ratio. Who is in charge of quality control?
