Food, the steak, was excellent. Service was a bit slow for a few reasons which also had to deal with the atmosphere, was there was a Dodger event which was very crowded and slowed service and a bit loud but other wise very good all around. The banquet room was a bit musky smelling but the food and service was very good.

It took about 10 minutes for the server to greet the table. The server was very pleasant. Our party ordered appetizers and drinks. My husband ordered a double mango IPA. It was not an IPA. The server kindly took the beer back to the bar and brought another type.
After the appetizers, our salads arrived. They were very good. Then the main courses arrived. However, the salad plates and appetizer plates were not removed. This was unacceptable. You removed the dirty plates before setting the main courses down.
Two people in our party ordered steak and were pleased with the flavors. I ordered lobster because a family member recommended it. The size was maybe 6 oz. and cost $41.00. I was disappointed with the size for the price. Thankfully, it was flavorful.
The atmosphere has changed over the years. The Cast and Cleaver used to be a bit more upscale. Sadly, it is no longer especially for the price of the dinner. This was my husband's first visit, and he asked that we don't go back. He was not pleased and felt rushed. We actually were there maybe 1 hour and 10 minutes whuch for the money we spent, it should have been 2 hours. It makes me very sad because I have lovely memories from all the years I have eaten there. And I do have to agree with my husband, we won't return.

Look, if you live in the IE, you know about Cask-N-Cleaver. This restaurant is an institution. It's old and dated inside, but that's a HUGE part of it's charm!!! The atmosphere remains warm and welcoming and the food is just solid. We had a large party for my dad's birthday and our server was incredibly attentive, fast and thoughtful! Everyone loved their food and my dad had the best night!

We had a group of 7 and there was no wait. We shared a potato skins appetizer and it was great. The salad bar had a diverse selection of items and was quite good. My prime rib was cooked to perfection and my wife enjoyed her teriyaki chicken. Our server was very attentive and we all enjoyed our visit.

For a steakhouse, the steaks were tasteless. We were very disappointed with our Valentine's dinner. The service was excellent. The quality of the food was horrible.

Our experience is always positive. Friendly service staff and welcoming atmosphere. Food is excellent. My only concern is the bar staff. Inexperience in different drinks. My margarita was not well made and they had no knowledge of how to make a Paloma or Black Widow. Wish they were more accommodating and trained in different drinks. Very friendly but fell short for me. Great establishment and value. Fast service and never pushy. Will return many more times.
This was a dinner that my chef son and his wife bought for us. Last week was our 50th anniversary at home, they couldn't make it. The Cask and Cleaver is one of our favorite. Great salad and fresh products. My wife had fish and chips, I had cask shrimp/rice pilaf. My sone had a perfect NY steak with broccoli š„¦and our daughter in law had bake potatoe and side salad. The rest of us had the great salad bar. Everything we had was perfectly cooked. So the night was great and we all enjoyed the dinner.
Usually the food is so good but yesterday my fries were cold and the āloadedā mashed potatoes were weird. We are not use to seeing nacho cheese on mashed potatoes and then it being labeled as loaded. Everything else was good.
It was for my Mom's birthday. They treated her beautifuly. Service and food was great.
