Cake slices too small , I guess I shouldn't compare them with claim jumper.

As a customer that's eaten at Black Bear restaurants in Arizona, Oregon, Washington and throughout California I found this restaurant below par compared to others. The food was ok but serving size was small even after I paid extra for the larger size portions I always enjoyed taking food home. The price was ridiculous it was about twice the price of other restaurants I've been to. California has incredibly high prices but $60 dollars for chicken fried steak lol we could have eaten at a steakhouse. Then the waitress really became annoying trying to rush us to leave she had someone show up before closing waiting for her. Sad but I give this Black Bear my lowest rating of all the other restaurants I've been to.

Waited 10 minutes for someone to ask what we wanted to drink. We placed our order for food, after 40 minutes had to ask what was taking so long for our food.

Our server Courtney was very kind and attentive. Service was excellent and the Food was great. Definitely would return again with the great service and food we received today. And the atmosphere was homely.

My wife and I had breakfast here recently. We have eaten here before and looked forward to it. I ordered steak (medium) and eggs with hash browns. The steak was close to inedible as were the hashbrowns. The steak was terribly overdone and dry. I took two bites and left it. The hashbrowns were terribly dry and I couldn’t eat them either. The only items that were good were the eggs and toast. Don’t know if I will go back and give them another chance but if I do I won’t order the steak and hashbrowns.
A good stop on the way to get a decent breakfast. The service was great as we were a large party. Don't get the avocado toast.

Restaurant was not very busy. We ordered our food and the cook kept making the wrong burger for my husband. Waitress kept telling cook it was saposed to have bacon on it and he refused to make it. By the time he got his burger everyone else was done eating. Waitress never came back to get us refills on our drinks. Had to get up and ask another Waitress for boxes. Very unprofessional Restaurant.

I want to be very careful with my opinion since I went on January 1 and because it was a holiday I imagine that they were short on staff since there were only 2 waitresses who were very friendly and pretty but the service was very slow. There was no coffee refill, the food took a long time, I asked for a glass of water and they never brought it to me.
It was a bad experience but I understand that it was a lot of work for only two people attending.
I wish they improve since this chain is great!

Worst waitress ever. We were the only people in the restaurant and my wife had to get up and ask for service. You should never be served and never see your waitress again.

Really disappointed in the quality of the food at that price point. We ordered the pot roast (mostly potatoes and veg) and chicken fried steak (which had a weird perfumy taste to the gravy). $50 for two people after a $10 off coupon and the beans were from a can. The location in Shasta is awesome for breakfast so we were expecting better.

Coming from someone with about 18years of food service experience, I'd simply say that Rancho-cucamonga BB Cafe was at best, a serious let down. My first and last time here. Such a shame too because there is a great concept and atmosphere (if it was kept clean). At 830am on a Sunday, it took an hour and a half from being sat to eating one entree split with my guest, despite it not being busy. Sat at a half clean table with half filled condiments, next to 3 other fully un-bussed tables, we waited 45 minutes for one entrée to come out in 3 stages, without silverware, which lead to the food being sub par and quickly turned cold. The worst part was, by 9am, the staff had more than doubled and service did not improve. No sign of a manager anywhere, the staff was free to move slow and do things like roll silverware and fill salt and peppers while the kitchen struggled, tables remained un-bussed and the servers left un assisted with even the simplest things like coffee refills and clearing dishes.
For an average of $20 - $30+ an entrée, I'd have thought the experience would have been better. I was so disappointed, I didn't even bother mentioning it to a manager. Clearly, they wouldn't have cared. As I finished up by paying my bill at the front counter, I was asked how everything was. I replied it was "okay" in a tone that didn't match being okay, to which there was no concern if things could have been better. Lesson learned. I wouldn't eat there again if they bought my next meal

My family and I went to this place for Thanksgiving and the quality of the food was poor. The turkey tasted like it was a processed salty lunch meat and the gravy tasted like a cheap gravy that came out of a jar. The meal was $30 which is 4 dollars more expensive than another restaurant I went to a few days later that served a way better tasting meal. Night and day comparison.
Had a fantastic experience at the Moreno Valley Black Bear Diner for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, the Rancho Cucamonga location was completely different. After a LONG wait (maybe not the restaurant's fault, it was Christmas Day), we were seated at a table that had a LEAKING cooling unit above us, complete with water dripping on my head. We were moved, of course, but there was at least one other party seated there (and moved) before they put a chair on top of the table. After ordering, we waited a VERY LONG time, again, for our food. Coffee was refilled only if we asked. And the food was not served to both of us at the same time. The second meal was another 5 minute wait. Food was not hot, only warm. And the taste and quality were mediocre at best. I like Big Bear Diner, generally, but i will not be returning to this location.
