Have been here a few times now (all in 2024). A fair warning: in my experience the service tends to be slow. If we are told 45 minutes, we give it an hour. We usually plan accordingly when ordering from here.
HOWEVER there is a reason for the wait. They make great hand-made pies. We typically order a Nonna's with pepperoni and a regular pizza with gluten free crust. They've got an excellent gluten free crust that is always consistent. Not only is it really great thatj they provide the GF option, the GF option is quite a good crust in its own right. The Nonna's is an excellent rendition of a Detroit style pizza. They use those magical Detroit-style square pans and everything. Characteristic to the style, the sauce is placed on top of the cheese with the toppings. The beauty of a detroit style pizza is that the cheese is spread to the edges of the pan and melts into the crevices between that wonderful square pan and the crust. The hot pan crisps up the cheese nicely and makes those who refuse to eat crust reconsider. This style is what The Parlor Pizzeria executes with their Nonna pies, and I think the result is well worth the wait. Having grown up in the midwest, it's great to see a Detroit style pizza done so well out here by these folks.
Lastly, I wanted to note something about their sauce. I think they have two versions of sauce: a "spicy" and a sauce that is not as spicy. The Nonna's has their "spicy" sauce. That sauce is probably one of the more uniquely flavored pizza sauces that I've had. It has a robust, sweet tomato flavor, with garlic and a little bit of zest from the spice blend that they use in it. It isn't spicy as in spicy-hot or anything, just something that has some spicees in it that give it a pep to elevate it beyond a more simple pizza sauce. Frankly they have a killer sauce recipe that works well on their Nonna's pies.
Tldr: expect a wait and expect a great pizza.

I finally tried this place with a buddy of mine, we haven't been here since it used to be Anthony's pizza back when I was younger. We tried their Nonna Bella Sicilian pizza and it was some of the best pizza I've had in a long time! We'll definitely be back! The stracciatella cheese melted perfectly on top and the hot honey was a perfect compliment to the pepperoni that was on it! The crust had the perfect crispy and the slices were big. This was an expensive pizza, but, looking at what we got, it was well worth it. I'm glad to see that even though Anthony's pizza is gone, that good pizza is still here to stay. This was my first time trying Sicilian style pizza and it was one of the best pizzas that I've had in a long time. Absolutely worth getting!

First off, let me say that if you are starving and want to grab something in less than an hour, they are not the one's.My wait time was 1.30 min. The pizza had a cardboard taste. I feel that the boxes they use may have something to do with it. I will not be returning, as it was not to my liking. Go to pizza and such in Clairemont!

What pizza place always runs out of pizza? Called two different days at two different times, nowhere near closing, and they are always “out” of pizza.
Food is Okay at best. Service ? Well it’s questionable , just know if you place an order here and they tell you 45 minutes for pickup it’ll be twice the amount of time. And it’s been like that the last 2-3 times I’ve been here which leads me to believe that’s almost always!!. I will have to find a different pizzeria because I loose an hour waiting each time and my family and kids are hungry to be waiting around a lot longer than expected or what I was initially told.

I'll start off by saying i love all pizza and i'm from NY living in CA. Had the noona, it was mediocre, it might only be slightly better to eat it there since they over cook it but there's no place to sit, just outdoor and 3 stools. I'm ok with snob attitude especially if they make great food. This is not it. There are other better options down the freeway. For locals living in the 5 mile radius this is the only option hence the positive reviews. add 5 more miles and there are better options with less snootiness.

I can't believe I went so long without knowing about this place! The pizza here is phenomenal! The first time we ordered through DoorDash, and while it was a bit pricey, the cashier was super helpful when I picked up the pizza. She suggested ordering directly from their website for a better deal and even gave me a card. The second time, we ordered online, and it was incredibly easy. They texted us with the estimated pick-up time. Just keep in mind that on weekends, it can take a little over an hour, so plan accordingly. We always place our order an hour before dinner to be safe, and it usually takes about 65 to 80 minutes for the pizza to be ready. But trust me, it's worth the wait! We've found our new favorite local pizza spot!

Pizza was great! Prices are a bit higher than others, but you can see that they use high-quality ingredients. As stated on other reviews, the wait time was longer than usual but for me it wasnt an issue. I called ahead prior to ordering online to get their actual wait time. Honestly, some of the best pizza I've had. Ordered the nonna bella, a sausage, and a cheese but with the classic milder sauce for the kiddos.

I have ordered here a few times. They make an OK pizza... bit thier service is absolute garbage! I have ordered online two different times. The first time quoted me over an hour to pick up. I waited and drove to pick up and they had not even started making the pizza! We waited another 30 or more minutes. We were giving them the benefit of being fairly new. Tried them again and they did slightly better but still had to wait past the estimated wait time. Ordered again because my family does like thier pizza. I think it is mediocre but we tried again and on the website ot says to call to verify cooking time. I called and was told it would be done at 6:45pm. I had my sin leave at 6:45p and they were not ready. They had not started the order! He waited for an an additional 35-40 minutes. We will not be going back. Miss the old Anthony's that used to be there.
