Originally I was going to eat noodles another restaurant but I walked into 99 ranch and spotted this place. Decided to try it out. I walked in and it was empty I thought it was closed. There was a lady behind the counter and you have to order first. Its a huge menu and I recommend looking at the pictures of the food to see what interest you.

I ended up choosing the shrimp chow mein and it was delicious 😋. Its prepared from scratch so it does take time. If you want to try a quite spot and home made food definitely go here. And

“Great food and super friendly owner!”

Stopped by this place and was really impressed. The food was tasty and came out fast, but what made it even better was how nice the owner was. Super friendly, welcoming, and just made the whole vibe really comfortable. You can tell they really care about their customers. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!

cantonese chef told me lack of raw material meant he can't provide what i choose in the menu! the actual cooking is very ordinary and may not visit again

Three friends and I enjoy dinner at Yuen’s Lai. It has various levels. We ate one floor above the ground floor. The staff brought tablets for each of us to order by photos of the dishes. Two of us really enjoyed a mixed seafood casserole that was pleasantly spicy. We had an interesting potato noodle dish where julienne potatoes comprised the noodles. We ordered the seafood, potato noodles, vegetable fried rice, sautéed greens, and a chicken dish. The four of us couldn’t finish all the food. With drinks the bill came to FJD 146.00.

The meal was more than enough for 2. Ideal for family dining. Table service was really good. Enjoyed my Chinese tea and snack whilst waiting for our dinner to arrive.

I visited this Chinese restaurant in March 2019 and just collected one of the worst restaurant memories I have ever had. As you can see from the first photo, I discovered a colorful decoration material under the food I ordered. This oily thing got mixed with the food and I realized it after eating at least half of my dish. When I put a little piece on my tongue through my small finger to taste it, it tasted like a candle and the blue color from my finger did not go off even after washing it. I asked the waiter to check what was this oily decoration material which spoiled my food. She came back after talking to the kitchen and said it was a "jam". Tasting the awful candle taste, I told her to bring me the bottle as a proof. Then she disappeared for long time and came with a blueberry jam can. I opened the can and put it on the dish and showed her that these are two different materials and very different colors. At that time, she went back to discuss more and I heard that the Chinese (lady) manager is like yelling at her. I went to talk to her and she insisted that it was jam. I showed her the jam and asked to taste it. She was claiming that the jam has changed color and taste since the plate was too hot. I told her I am not stupid and this was the first time I understood that some people really need to be told off by Gordon Ramsay. She was behaving me as if I am staff of her, telling me not to talk back to her and I reminded that I am customer. In the end, I paid the full bill and left the restaurant. Unfortunately, the Fijian waitress has tasted the oil or candle (whatever it was) while I was trying to talk to the aggressive manager and her tongue and teeth totally got blue! This thing was as if voting ink... I am only sorry for her as this nonsense decoration would not wash of from her lips and teeth at least a week. Let's see what Fiji Food Safety Authorities would say. This place is to be totally avoided.
