We had a wonderful dinner once again at Catalan last night. The service was terrific. They made us feel so relaxed and special. The food is outrageously delicious. I feel like I'm actually in Spain when I'm eating at Catalan. The wine from Bilbao was just as tasty as when I was in Spain last month. Once again, we had an absolutely lovely dinner at Catalan. The owners are just fabulous and the restaurant is our favorite.

Our first time here. Wanted Mediterranean and Spanish food. Thrilled with the octopus, fried potatoes, paella. Family owned business with family members part of the wait staff.

Our 4th dinner here in as many months and this place, good to begin with, is better than ever. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and were very pleased that the quality of the meal and the service exceeded our expectations. Once again, the octopus was a wow, as was the paella. Our server (sorry, did not get his name) was attentive in a pleasant, lighthearted way that complemented the experience. We each tried a different cocktail and all were very good.

It was our 43rd anniversary so I wanted to try some place new that I hadn't been to before . Catalan is very easy to get to off the 111. Booths , tables , and seating in the enclosed patio . Nicely decorated . Service by Darwin was excellent and appreciate his recommendations . The new owners were gracious and welcoming . The mixta paella was tasty and plenty for one person . The bread basket was warm and soft either the accompanying pesto dip . The fried calamari was tender and live the light batter . The star of the dinner would be the Branzino .... Pan fried over risotto with spinach . This was delish ! Finally the management brought us a complimentary salted Caramel custard for dessert ! Great place to try at least once or maybe more!

Exceptional service and very good food. The babaganoush, romesco and hummus were very tasty as was the crispy warm bread with basil mint sauce. The salmon with couscous and scallops with corn were both the best choices.

Came back after five years to give it another try since it's in the neighborhood. Was underwhelmed. Ordered scallops and they were honest that they had bad scallops and wouldn't serve them to me. opted for the fish of the day which was halibut. Both my husband and I had it. Both of ours were overcooked and dry. $46 each. Very limited Wine list of wines that are not very good. Service was OK. People are very nice. But a beer, a martini, one glass of wine, two entrées and two desserts. $210 with tip.

I have always loved this restaurant. I have been coming here for 5 years. About eighteen months to a year ago, I was worried as there was never any customers here. But it is now under new management and the customers have returned, great service, wonderful food and a nice ambiance. Hope they are here for many years to come. I am happy. Visit here and you will be too!

Food was good but options for tapas was limited. Didn't see the traditional tapas dishes. Not much was really sharable or ‘“small plate”.

I had such a wonderful dining experience at Catalan. I loved the ambience and atmosphere of the restaurant, plus we had such great attentive service the whole time. I had the charred octopus which really stood out, so flavorful and the seafood pasta was amazing. Oh and cannot forget about the caramel custard, heavenly, just do yourself a favor and get the dessert!

This is a gem of a restaurant in Rancho Mirage. The food is top notch and everyone we met was so nice and welcoming. Abby was incredibly sweet and she was honestly the highlight of the night.

What a fantastic experience we had at Catalan! The food was outstanding, the Grilled / Charred Octopus was one of the most unique dishes I've ever had. We had the Seafood Paella as well, it was so so good. I wanted to try it all! The atmosphere, the food and the service is all top notch. This is one of my new favorite spots in the valley. Highly recommend!

Maybe my palate is not sophisticated enough to enjoy the food. The best thing to me was the fresh warm bake bread and oil. The staff and owner were pleasant.

We were so excited to try Catalan for it's Paella and other Mediterranean dishes listed in the menu.
The warm bread with a bright pesto was delicious and as a started we ordered the marinated olives that were excellent.
Unfortunately the Paella Valenciana (seafood) was a major and expensive disappointment, a bland pile of mushy rice with not a single hint or note of Saffron along with overcooked shrimps.
The scallops over a pureed butternut squash and some sort of corn concoction was also lacking flavour.
The service was on point, attentive.
