Hidden gem alert! So surprised and impressed with the range of offerings that this shop offers and definitely the quality of the food. The freshly piped cannolis and homemade pappardelle (with Bolognese ragu with grass fed Niman Ranch ground beef and organic ground pork) the best texture and flavors...on par, if not better, than establishments I tried in New York City. I never liked cannolis (too hard, too thick, too sweet) but the light crisp shell and perfectly balanced sweetness of the filling of THIS cannoli blew my mind. The ambience is cosy and the owner Gisella shows her commitment to the highest standards by not only the food but by the way she greets customers herself and wipes down tables personally between parties.Looking forward to return (to try the Nutella bread pudding, carbonara, risotto, homemade ciabatta, seafood, and more cannolis!) and, most of all, to bring my family to enjoy a decent Italian dinner together in a warm, relaxed setting.

So good! I finally tried Cibo this past Friday (I have been meaning to for the longest time). I ordered the Beet and Apple salad, Stracchino, Arugula, Prosciutto Focaccia, and Ravioli. All three dishes were excellent. The tomato sauce was exceptional. Thank you Cibo!

I try to really find the good to post. Like other posters, food overdone and not savory. The sauce on the flatbread was horrible and mozzarella skimpy on a rectangular flatbread, half only had sauce. The beet salad was okay buy again, nothing I will order again. I WANT to like this place so I will try pasta next time. I hope the sauce isnt as bitter as the pizza sauce.

Ordered carbonara, Pappardelle and Bolognese, chicken Marsala, and Arancini bites. My two teenagers demolished it before I could grab a plate! Good thing I got to taste before it all went down. I had a bite of everything and it was all so fresh and delicious. My kids left the seasonal veggies and rosemary potatoes for me and was so flavorful and delightful! Owner is very kind and made us feel valued. Love this place!

I decided to try this place on a Tuesday to get their 2fer offer. Figured at $20+ per dish for dinner this would be the best way to try this place out. I wanted so much to like this place. The owner is not friendly at all. Plus the pasta dishes hardly had any sauce or meat in them. Shrimp was super fishy. Eggplant had so much breading with hardly any sauce or cheese. We didn't get the bread with our dinners to top it off (we ordered the food for takeout so didn't realize that there was no bread until we got home). There are way too many Italian restaurants in the area that are delicious. Don't waste your time on this one.

I rarely if ever give a bad review but I feel compelled to tonight. I ordered a Lasagna to go. $21.95. Not only was it tiny it wasn't even good. Usually my wife and I can split something like this. This wasn't enough for one person. I just wish I had read the reviews before I stoped in. I'm not alone with these thoughts.

Very authentic and very good pricing, especially the sandwiches. The workers were very helpful with their recommendations & the food came out quick. The place itself is very cozy and feels like a mix of home & bistro. Most Italian restaurants in south Orange County are honestly over Americanized to the point they don't even use real olive oil or butter. HOWEVER that's not the case for CIBO Italiano as they stay true to their craft. The ingredients they source are fresh & quality, grass fed beef, wild caught fish, free range eggs/chicken, and garden harvested produce + freshly made pasta, bread and desserts. They also have Italian imported cheeses, porks, tomatoes, fish, olive oil, pasta/flour, jams, and much more, most of which you can buy from their market & deli too. All the entrees here are flavorful, satiating, and actually great for your health.

Such a great find! The carbonara was delicious, but could have used more pancetta. Found myself digging and looking for it. The flavoring was incredible. It's so nice that they delivered to the Great American Craft Spirits around the corner, super convenient. Everybody loved what they ate, except for the bruschetta which was basically pico de gallo on crostini. Super friendly people.

Nice little Italian gem in OC.Cozy authentic deli / restaurant with some hard-to-find genuine Italian food.Their "calabrese" (spicy salami) is in my opinion better than the one I buy in Italy (BTW: born and raised in Italy and I still go back for a couple of months every year). My regular shop includes: taralli (rosemary flavor), calabrese salami, spek prosciutto (a dry smoked prosciutto), and bologna/mortadella.

This is a casual little gem in South Orange County and I should have done this recommendation months ago. The owner, Gisella, is a great cook and superb baker. Her food is truly one of the most authentic if you appreciate "Italy" Italian food. I enjoyed a pork panini on fresh homemade baked bread complimented with figs, sliced apples and pickled onions. My very picky father in-law loves her gnocchi bolognese, feels it's of the best he's had. Trust me, quite a compliment from this 89 year old! Husband enjoyed the linguine carbonara and the arancini appetizer which was excellent. We left with homemade amoretti cookies which are to die for! I look forward to my morning coffee knowing they are waiting. Give Giselle's restaurant a try! It will not disappoint!
