New Lake Asian House

So I got DoorDash, thought I ordered general tsao chicken but accidentally got the Kung pao chicken, and, may I say, this is the best Kung pao chicken in town. Very authentic, you can tell they don’t use MSG, and it just hits right. Definitely ordering again, cheers

I’m honestly surprised they don’t have more customers (at least that’s my perception each time I’ve come to pick up an order). They’re one of the very few Chinese restaurants in RSM - the other being Wan Fu across the Bell Tower.
We love their yangzhou fried rice! I wish they had a true catering option with discounted price for bulk buy. They do offer half tray for big events but you have to order multiples of the item and ask them to prepare them in the foil tray.
I’m not a fan of their hot & sour soup - the meat tastes like processed ground chicken or pork. I’d like to try other items in the menu.
The atmosphere is alright. The place could use a little livening up to be less meh!

Amazing food, super sweet staff. Thank you! Veggie fried rice is so good, fresh, great quality. Orange chicken is beautiful.

Last night dined at Newlake Restaurant, and while the food was truly excellent, the overall experience left much to be desired due to the service.

The food itself was fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. Every dish we tried was delicious, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. Kudos to the kitchen staff for delivering such a fantastic meal!

Unfortunately, the service did not match the same level of quality. Our server was slow and unresponsive, which was frustrating. It took an unusually long time just to get waters, and rather than being attentive, the server proceeded to sit at the front of the restaurant watching a show on her phone—with the volume up. This was incredibly disruptive, as the loud audio from her phone interrupted what should have been an enjoyable and peaceful dinner.

While we were very impressed with the food, the inattentive service took away from the overall experience. I hope management addresses this issue, as Newlake has so much potential to provide both great food and great service. If they can improve on the service, tell employees its is very unproffesional to be watching a TV show on the phone with the volume up! it would make dining here truly exceptional if they focus on better service

I give them 5 star because their Chinese food are very good quality and delicious.

It’s a cute little cozy, feel restaurant. Fantastic food, and great service.
I also have very high standards when it comes to boba milk tea, they exceeded them. Boba is perfect and milk tea isn’t overly artificial flavored like most places. 10/10 in my book.

The worst Chinese restaurant I’ve been to. The food looked and tasted like it’s been cooked a week ago and kept hot under a light. Even the rice was not cooked right.

Excellent and delicious food. Flavorful. Portions are generous. Great variety for different dietary needs. Some of best food I’ve had in this cuisine in a long time.

Location is hidden but food is very good. Authentic and not too much oil!
