I've been coming through this town once or twice every summer for about 10 years, and I've never seen this place open, but I've always wanted to stop. I definitely wouldn't make a trip here just for this place. I'll update my review if they are ever open when I'm passing through.

Love this place. The museum has so much history. They also do mining tours. Cool old stuff everywhere.

The best part about this place was Don. Don has rich knowledge of mining and the history of mining in the area. He suggested a cool backroad side road trip to Randsberg, another semi ghost town. There were turnoff along the way to see old mining towns. He also sells dry and wet mining equipment and security devices.

Nice people, but I don't think it worth the stop.

Remember when California fought the North in the civil war? Yeah me neither yet you can get your handy l**** confederate flag here and listen to the locals talk about some lame billionaire president they jock even though he don't give a damn if they die in the middle of the desert. I hate the internet for melting rural Americans brain. Maybe they will just drink fluoride and turn into frogs.

Pretty interesting this little peace of heaven in the middle of nowhere.

Always a great visit, the curators are great and have more info on the area then most people around.

This place has a lot of gold mining artifacts, plus many more. The guy who runs it a great guy. His coffee is delicious too.

If you like history and gold prospecting, stop by the Owl Cafe to view the museum or charter a prospecting adventure. The owner Daniel has extensive knowledge of prospecting the Red Mountain mining district. The Owl Cafe is not a restaurant but a historical Cafe with an incredible museum inside. If you want to learn how to run a dry washer or pan for gold then look no further then the Owl Cafe.
Lots of history there WOW! Gentleman was very helpful and nice to talk too!

What food I don't even think they have a health license

Very neat and accessible restaurant. They serve large meals and for reasonable prices. I loved the food a lot and the waiters were super welcoming and explanatory. I recommend this place.

I really liked their food and service, awesome area nearby to my residence. The workers are always very kind. Would recommend to others.
