Was a regular and came to the downtown Redlands location almost daily until the owners fired their workforce for unionizing. They even fired pro-union warehouse workers and replaced them with other anti-union employees. As a person that values the work of individuals generally but also specifically the baristas that worked here who went above and beyond, I will never spend money here again unless owners recognize the union and rehire employees.

The employees were great but the owners fired a bunch of them for trying to form a union. They also were selling masks online before they were given to the staff. Overall a disappointing show of indifference to the individuals that do the actual work for Augie's.

I'm so disappointed in Augie's decision to close its café locations after employees sought to unionize. This was one of my favorite coffee spots because of the quality, atmosphere, and kind workers. Taking their jobs away and closing their stores instead of recognizing their requests and needs is unacceptable.

Turning your comments off on your Instagram posts is a coward move. All it shows is that you're hiding something and trying to "wish away" the union by shutting down communication *or* allowing the public to show their support for change. Never buying Augie's coffee again until something changes. I came for the baristas. Not the coffee.

The owners of Augie's coffee (Austin and Andy Amento) claim they had to close all their locations and lay off every employee due to the COVID-19 crisis. In reality, they fired their entire staff for attempting to organize a union in response to the poor working conditions. Such as, no full-time benefits, no paid time off, any raises that exceed the minimum wage, hazard pay during a pandemic, unfair tip distribution, and failure to implement safety measures immediately. Instead, the owners immediately began selling their "quarantine merch collection" online and in stores including, themed coffee blends, mugs, apparel, masks, and a 1-gallon and 5-gallon to-go option for their select drinks. As well as applying for and receiving vast amounts of Federal aid under the CARES act Paycheck Protection Program. In contrast, they couldn't even provide any masks for their baristas working on the front line. Any employees that opted to take unpaid time off offered by management were retaliated against by having their hours cut when they returned to work. After months of unsuccessfully attempting to resolve these issues, workers at Augie's decided to form a union to ensure that their voices would be heard. They tried to offer the owners the opportunity to engage in constructive dialogue with the goal of arriving at positive solutions for both employees and the business as a whole. As soon as Austin and Andy found out about the efforts to form a union, they called in the managers from each of their 6 locations and asked if they were Pro or Anti-union. The manager of their Riverside location got demoted immediately due to him expressing his pro-union views. Which is illegal under the National Labor Relations Act of 1935, a foundational statute of United States labor law that guarantees the right of private-sector employees to organize into trade unions, engage in collective bargaining, and take collective action such as strikes. Not long after, Austin and Andy fired their entire staff of ~80 employees without notice at all of their 6 locations (2 Redlands, 2 Riverside, Clairemont, and Temecula). These are loyal employees; some having been with the company for over 10 years. These are parents of young children, college students, human beings that have chosen to dedicate a sizable portion of their professional working lives to serving their community. They are now unemployed and dumped on the street during a pandemic by a company that projects this idea of loving and supporting their employees on social media, simply because they asked for better working conditions. Please consider this before supporting this business in the future. Also please check out the @augiesunion page on Instagram and consider donating to their GoFundMe to help financially support the employees that are now unemployed.

Used to be my favorite coffee shop. I don't know how much time and money I've spent there over the last 10 years. Now, I regret all of it, except the money I left in the tip jar for the baristas who are always friendly, helpful, and fun to talk with. I will not spend another cent at Augie's until justice is given to their employees who were illegally fired for attempting to unionize. Be better than this.

Really love this place. The employees are great. The coffee is great. The vibe is great. Unfortunately, the owners are participating in some old fashioned union busting, choosing to lay off their employees and temporary close their locations instead of letting them unionize. During a plague. That's a yikes from me.

Recently moved back to redlands and wanted a cool local coffee shop that wasn't Starbucks, second time coming back and it's just as pleasant as the first time we came, everyone is always super friendly here. Chai Tea with Lavender is super good! As well as the cold brew with honey and cinnamon! Pastries have been on point every time! Today they happened to be playing some good pop punk tunes so my wife and I knew we've found our go to coffee spot! Do yourselves a favor and go get some Augies coffee!

SO YUMMY!!!! Forever a favorite. Great customer service too! Great place to study and the staff helps if you want to try something new, and even remakes it if you don't end up liking what you tried

I love Augies - they make the best Oat Latte EVER. This is my favorite Augies cafe location. Space to sit inside or outside.

Great coffee shop. Friendly service. Great coffee to take with me while traveling. I appreciate the sparkling water served along side the espresso.

We walk here with our corgi Wesley just about every weekend. I really like their selection of vegan pastries (banana muffin is my favorite, even though I don't really care for bananas!) and their oak milk option. My husband always gets the honey cinnamon and I like their iced spicy santa. The staff is cool and always nice, especially to our dog! We like to sit outside, lots of patio space.

Pretty tasty coffee! Very rich! I only wish the cups were bigger. Feel like what you pay for a large coffee doesn't really feel like it's a large coffee

Seriously good coffee, in my opinion. I do agree with other Yelpers, however, that the Stuart Street employees are very unfriendly. Not one unnecessary word passes their lips. And then the register automatically asks about a tip--are you kidding me? Why would I tip a surly barista? This is the place for a nice latte, but go elsewhere if you are looking for a smile and a kind word.
