This is a perfect example of some place trying to be unique and maybe fancy, but completely failing on every possible level. I struggle to find a single positive to say about this place after my experience tonight. Of the 6 different dishes I tried they were all pretty much train wrecks. Crab cakes....soggy mush that completely fell apart. Pork belly.......poorly rendered leaving too much fat and strangely bland. Bone marrow......no acid and just a greasy mess. Pappardelle pasta was bland, shrimp were overcooked to the point of becoming had rubber bullets. Prosciutto wrapped chicken was pretty boring to say the least and the side dish of corn fregola was absolutely flavorless and the corn was clearly previously frozen. By FAR the most revolting thing was the flat iron steak which no joke all 4 of us at the table said tasted like movie theater popcorn "butter". No joke that was seriously what we all tasted. I am still nauseated and feeling like my gut is swimming in some butter flavored oil. Asking for anything took a ridiculous amount of time. Half the time it seemed our server had forgotten us and had some other guy checking on us. Even after asking for things it took 7-8 visits back and forth with other tables before he would bring what we asked for. Salt, bread, even water. After getting food we were not asked how anything was. His assistant was the only one who stopped by once or twice. Only when it was time to pick up the signed receipts did he rush over. Now on to the tab...... this was an an absolute joke. $260 for a meal for 4 and probably 75% went back because it was inedible. No attempts to resolve anything. In fact it was more ignore the problems and ask nothing. $5 for a Coke and $5 for every refill? Had I known that I would have told em where they could stick that can. Oh and we spit the bill and these geniuses somehow ended up charging all the wrong cards. I cannot say enough how completely disappointing an experience this was tonight. Everything was so bad I would have even been mad even if someone had come over (they clearly didn't) and offered to knock 50% off the bill. Absolutely nothing, other than the free bread now that I think about it, was even really edible. RUN AWAY!!! Run far away!!!

I've lived in Redlands for a few years now and have walked by the cafe multiple times and decided to try it today. Upon arrival we were asked if we had reservations (which we did not) but as I looked around the restaurant was nearly empty. We were seated a few moments later and ordered drinks and our meal. Once we were served no one came to check on us, ask us if we wanted another drink or anything else. While we were sitting there two if the servers were up front and one started chastising an employee (male w/black hair) because apparently someone sat down and didn't tell the server but he stated that he didn't even see them. It was degrading it itself but then we overheard one of them saying that customers will claim they've been waiting for 30 minutes when in reality it's only been 5" Mind you, having been a server before I understand the pressures of being a server but as mentioned the restaurant was practically empty. Also it's very poor etiquette to talk about customers in front of customers!! I definitely will not be back which I'm sure no one cares but I'm also letting everyone who asks for recommendations to not stop there. I've gotten better customer service at AM/PM. Not worth the price of the food to have crappy service. I gave this place one star because I like the tree inside.

Monday night, and busy. We had to sit at the bar. I had the lamb chops which were cooked perfectly but didn't have that distinctly lamb flavor. The seasoning wasn't overwhelming, but I really missed that flavor. They were still good. My partner had the kirobuta pork chops, butterflyed, which were delicious. Service was ok, it looked like a training day for new waiters. House Cab, while excellent, was $15/glass. Expensive menu.

Went for lunch on a quiet afternoon and I'd have to say after reading the mixed reviews my experience was on the underwhelming side. Food: delicious and my salmon sandwich tasted fresh. Service: Slow, not sure if our server was busy, but we were only checked on once and I had to ask for refill of my drink after almost 10 minutes of being empty. I expected a better experience for the price of our meal.

This place is a hidden gem in the heart of downtown Redlands. My wife and I recently planned a date night here with reservations. The outside patio area has a charming feel to it while inside you’re greeted with plant decor and cozy bench seating with pillows. We started with drinks, old fashions, and 2 appetizers, bone marrow and pork belly. Both were delicious. The entrees we ordered were the salmon pesto pasta and shrimp pappardelle. They too were delicious. We barely had room for dessert but ordered the creme brulee which was, you guessed it, delicious. The service was very similar to that of a 5 star restaurant. This is truly a special restaurant that we’ll gladly be back to.

We went there for my birthday. Never been. Food was overpriced. It wasn't bad, but I don't get the hype or the justification in price. Bone marrow appetizer was literally two bites. Mostly inedible hard bone fiber inside. That was disappointing because it was actually really good. The bread with it was not good. It was way too hard. Wouldn't even soak up the fat on the plate, and I mean I let it sit there for minutes. It was like a crouton, not "toast." I got the short ribs. They were good, but not any different from what you could make at home with some red wine and a good recipe. What they were served with wasn't good. It was supposed to be polenta? It had the texture of mashed potatoes and it was supposed to be horseradish but it tasted like Parmesan cheese and the texture was weird. The pearl onions weren't soft. My husband got the lamb chops. They were very salty. He didn't eat the quinoa and for him to leave food on his plate is rare. Service was slow and it wasn't busy. Water went empty a few times. Staff was polite but I wouldn't call them friendly, and not overly attentive (which I actually prefer), but it would have been nice to have my drinks kept up with. There were only 3 tables dining. Really wish we'd have gone somewhere else. Pretty mediocre.

The food was so delicious!! We go the spicy angel hair & it was full of flavor and very great portion, we also go the wagyu burger with a side of salad, the burger was very very good the bread, the meat, the beacon, the mushrooms and onions were great! The service was great! Everyone was super helpful and nice! The place looks literally like a Pinterest post! Super cute and cozy in the inside. Would recommend for anyone! Its great for date night and group hang outs!

Food is tasty. Busy for lunch but arrive at opening time and you will be seated promptly. Recommend the qunoa with chicken.

Went here for a lunch meeting today. Food was ok but waitress ruined the experience. She seemed genuinely unhappy to be there and ruined our lunch with her lack of service and rude attitude. Place was not busy so that was not the issue. Disappointed.

So I was excited to experience your restaurant but unfortunately my expectations were not met at all! First off, I was treated rudely by the "host" when I said I had a reservation. Said no tables available and had to show her my open table email. Our server seemed preoccupied at the bar area and took a long time to take our order. First timers and no help or guidance regarding the menu. Speaking of menu, you need more vegetarian options! Other than like 4 items, everything was meat! I asked to substitute for like tofu or something and our server said no. The food was subpar and didn't really impress me. I had to wait along time just to get water refills until I said something to a worker and then they started to be more attention. My lasagna was luke warm and the mushroom risotto was terrible. That horrible blue cheese over powered everything! To make the night even worse, we were told dessert ran out? It was 7:30 pm. The only thing I was really looking forward to was not available. Overall, horrible experience and will not be returning. Will hold off in writing a review until someone responds back and holds themselves accountable for this experience. Thanks.

Your posted hours of service on your Google listing and website are wrong. I showed up at about 2.20 for lunch which is stated as being until 3pm. And I was turned away. They already closed service to begin preparing for dinner.

Wonderful experience there last night. My partner and I went for date night. We had the Poblano Relleno, and the Risotto. Very delicious! Great ambience. Only downside is sometimes the street performers can be loud if you're seating outside. Next time, we'll dine inside. I loved the decor and atmosphere that I saw in there. Highly recommend this little gem in the heart of downtown!

I have read the reviews...but only after my visit. Glad I didn't read them prior because I had a wonderful experience. It was a Saturday evening and we did not have reservations, most restaurants in this area on a Saturday evening ask for reservations and I do prefer to make a res. Still we approached to see if we could get seated, he offered us a couple seats at the bar which I am totally good with. We waited only a few minutes and were promptly seated. I loved the ambiance and I like being able to see into the kitchen. They have a great selection of high quality liquor and wine. The gentlemen that took care of us were great, I hope I got one of their names right but I believe it was Dominic. I ordered the short ribs with polenta and it was very tender and delicious, the bread is also very good. Had my dinner with a glass of tempranillo which was perfect. Prices are comparative to other restaurants in the area of the same quality. Next time I will make a reservation.
