I really wanted to like this place. First and foremost I do want to say that the folks working there, I'm assuming they are the owners, were lovely people. They were very nice, attentive. and provided very quick service. The restaurant was very authentic - quiet, decorated with traditional Japanese artwork - it was a nice change from the modern Sushi restaurants I've been to lately. However, everything else about this place was bad. The food was awful. We ordered multiple rolls and the quality of the ingredients was below average. The rolls were all small, the rice was crunchy and overcooked, the avocado in the rolls was old and black, and the fish in some of the rolls seemed to be old and rotten. It's hard to find good sushi in Redlands - trust me, I've been searching for good sushi joint since I moved here in 2019 - but this is the only restaurant I've tried that I will refuse to go back to.

Food is very fresh! Small family owned place. The inside is very clean. Will be our new go-to sushi spot!

This place is a hidden gem. Has good sushi but what excited me is that they have other Japanese dishes as well. Got the tonkatsu curry and it was excellent! Gyoza were really tasty as well. The filling was unusually tasty and juicy. Hubby got a roll and two orders of nigiri and they were very high quality as well.

Best sushi in inland empire!

A great hole-in-the-wall sushi spot! We accidentally stumbled upon this restaurant on a Friday night and we're so glad we did because everything was delicious and prepared so well. Chef Kimo is the best!

Sushi Kimo is a genuine Japanese sushi spot. The sushi chef is always so happy to connect with his customers and does so through language barriers by sporting a large, gregarious smile. His affability crosses cultures as he prepares the freshest fish (on Tuesdays) in the most thoughtful manner. Though I wonder what will become of this place when Chef Kimo retires, it is still going strong today!

Hole-in-wall, mom and pop shop. Need I say more? I'm very picky about my sushi and this place does it for me! If you're looking for white people rolls this isn't the place. So you can ignore the 1-star review that one person left lol. Chef Kimo is adorable! The sushi is so fresh! The yellowtail nigiri is definitely a must get. Melt in your mouth, deliciousness. Curry is very good also, it does have a kick though just FYI.

I'm not quite understanding how this place got such high ratings. Walked in, the place was empty. Possibly because the air conditioning wasn't working. 1 employee visible a Nice man. We ordered a spicy tuna roll a California roll and shrimp tempura 3 cokes. My spicy tuna was the worst I've ever had. I enjoy the freshness of that particular roll. However, the roll which was served literally tasted like it had come out of a tuna can covered on mayonnaise. The roll fell apart immediately and was tiny compared to the size of most rolls. The 3 cokes which we received were canned sodas( don't mind it) however, they were FLAT....ID HAVE TO SAY THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD. total bill was 43.00..... Not worth 43.00.

We recently had dinner at Sushi Kimo mainly because of the 4-star Yelp rating and our server was very nice. Unfortunately, that's about the only good thing I can say about this restaurant. The quality of fish was extremely poor...the worst we have ever had anywhere and we eat out a lot! Ordered sashimi and what should have been premium slices were chewy junk meat. The presentation was also disappointing, no thought was put into making it presentable. The sushi fell apart, not rolled correctly...it was as though the chef's knife was dull...it seemed a young child was learning how to make Sushi. We also ordered some tempura vegetables and the crunchy coating did not stick well to the vegetables, again very poorly done. And what was really odd was I asked for some extra teriyaki sauce and it was like water...no way could I identify it as teriyaki sauce, just a sort of watery, weak tasting sweet liquid. We decided to leave immediately and will never return.

This is one of our first dine in meals since covid started, and it was absolutely delicious! The service is prompt and friendly. The toro and yellowtail melt in your mouth! The oysters are so fatty and delicious. My husband really enjoyed the chicken katsu curry - chicken katsu has a light batter, and the curry is very rich and flavorful. I can't wait to come back soon with friends for another meal reminiscent of our trip to Japan a few years ago!

Several friends referred me to this place. Good food. Good service. Oyako don oishi. Sashimi/sushi fresh, oishi and made to order for takeout. Will be back.

Second day in a row for their curry. Husband went with the tonkatsu again but I opted for the chicken katsu curry. Curry was spot on. The chicken was juicy and the coating was really crunchy. We also ordered the oysters again and also got the toro and yellowtail. Toro was super fatty and delicious. Yellowtail isn't my favorite but it was good. Brought the brother in law and he had tonkatsu and thoroughly enjoyed his meal. Really recommend all the dishes we ordered.

It worries me when a sushi place has a B health rating for major and minor violations ?Someone please post update if this changes.
