I had a sore throat, so my friend recommended we get smoothies from here. I was amazed at how soothing it was for my throat! Totally made the soreness disappear. On top of that, it was really tasty! I'm sure the food at this place is just as great, but wow, their smoothies!!

Great vegan food, great service, nice area. I recommend this and I will be going back soon.

Smoothie was on point ! Hummus was really sour and not good and the crackers tasted burnt. The spicy raw taco was pretty tasty, but not spicy at all like the name suggests. I would probably go back only for a smoothie if I was in the area, just because they make their own milks in house and I love real coconut milk.

Food was excellent. Very excited for the unique vegan menu. I had the Goliath Burger and it was really good.

This is a tough one, I really wanted to be writing a more generous review. The Living Root Cellar is a cozy little all vegan cafe type of joint, serving juices, smoothies, baked goods, salads, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, and more. Located in Downtown Redlands, has a few small tables out front just curbside, and an interesting setup where you walk in to a small store front where you order, with stairs to an underground seating area. They had some toys, books, and a coloring book for the kiddos, which was nice and kept mine entertained. The service was fine, prices fair, ambiance OK. Definitely on the more natural side of vegan fare, plant based food, without fake meat substitutes, which I like.Unfortunately, the food and experience was disappointing. I ordered the tofu scramble with potatoes and bacon, and the fruit bowl for the kiddo. Both items came in a to go cup/bowl. That's fine for the fruit, but a scramble, potatoes and bacon? Big let down for me, would have been nice to have a meal served on a plate, or at least served separated so I could choose what I ate when. The scramble was OK, bacon meh, potatoes cooked inconsistently, mostly still on the raw side. The food was heated inconsistently throughout as well, with cold bites here and there. The fruit bowl was a mix of fresh (strawberries), frozen (blueberries), and dried fruit - very confusing and seems like it was just a "make due" effort.Hate to leave less than 3 stars unless I was simply offended or mistreated, but this place needs help if you ask me. Curious by other menu items but not sure if we'll be back, definitely didn't leave feeling any sort of excitement to return. We shall see.

Delicious vegan food and very healthy ingredients as well! Prices are good and portions are perfect! The workers are very nice and helpful, eager to answer any questions you may have. We will be back forsure! Highly recommend for anyone looking for healthy whole food options, vegan or not! Hard to find healthy food that tastes great but this place nails it!

It was my first time trying out this place. I tried their Sloppy Jack Sandwich. It was so good. It had a good amount of sauce, not too wet and the spice was just right. If you love a healthy, nutrient pack type of bread, the multi grain bread is the best. Also, i tried one of their cold press juices, Evergreen. I love it. Non of the flavors overpowered each other. Cant wait to try their other food and juices.

More than a juice shop. Burgers are really good. A tad dry, but good.

The Living Root Cellar is above ground! The staff was super friendly and helpful. They have an extensive menu for a vegan venue. The restaurant is on 2 levels: the store front is on the street level with minimum seating but downstairs (the Cellar) there is a fair amount of seating (even with an area for children). It is located on 6th Street which is a side street of State St and makes parking a bit tough. We came for a late breakfast on a weekday and parking was easy - this wouldn't be the case in the afternoons. We started breakfast with the Banana-Oat & Cacao Bib muffin. This is an average sized muffin (sometimes the not-so-healthy versions are quite huge - which is what I was expecting). What this muffin lacks in size makes up in density. And kudos to Living Root for making a dense muffin that has a great chew. (I've had "healthy" muffins before that were like chewing on saw dust - theirs is NOT like that.) The melding of flavors was good, and I liked being able to taste some of the various seeds. We also had the Ancient Grains Porridge. While I have no clue what an ancient grain is, I do know it tastes great. My pic doesn't do the Porridge justice except to show the fresh fruit. The combination of the five-grain porridge, nut and fruit made this heartier than I expected. They also added the right amount of cinnamon. Surprisingly it wasn't over powering and added the right amount of brightness to the oats. This vegan place did a great job. We will be back to try some of their other fares.

Oh no. Went in to get to food and was excited at first, to my dissatisfaction the waitress just left my food on the counter when it was ready and never served it until I reminded her meaning it was cold by the time I got it. Boo. Not only that but upon eating my burger I found hair in my food, it was definitely not mine and was very disgusting showing a total lack for service, taste, and presentation. I would not return and I wish I was able to get my money back. 0/5 stars if I could.
