My second time at this establishment and I thought the first time the bartender being rude was a one off but I've come to realize it's his permanent attitude. He said he couldn't make a traditional whiskey sour because he was not going to do it tonight to "maintain his sanity", talk about good service. I wish I could go to work and say "oh I don't feel like doing my job today but I will still charge you full price". Then, another female customer comes in and he tells her to shut up and didnt deny it when she asked him. She even still offered him a shot because she said he seemed to be having a bad day and he proceeded to insult her. Rude, disrespectful and undeserving of a job.

Got to the establishment in the afternoon but they didn't serve actual food until 5:00 PM. Charming venue and drinks were OK. Please serve food during open hours not just overpriced snacks.

Awesome little spot with great food, good drinks and excellent customer service. The place is a little bit on the small side but if you managed to get a table you will love the food and drinks. Prices are reasonable and they have a great happy hour menu.

Super disgusting bartender, he needs a new job he is definitely miserable. Been there we have gone twice figured it was a one time incident. Yesterday he was fighting with a customer which was a girl and he was being very disrespectful. The first time visit he threw our drinks instead of handing them or setting on bar area. It’s

My bf and I came here to celebrate St. Patrick's Day weekend. This was my first time and it was a good first visit. Very popular place, especially this weekend. We sat at the bar and settled in for drinks and dinner. We each had the Pot o' Gold, I had a Creme de Mint (I forget the name, but it reminded me of an Andes Chocolate Mint candy if it was a drink), Guinness, Harp, and I had a shot of Bushmills. For food, he had the corned beef and cabbage and I had fish and chips. All were delicious. We want to come back for a traditional Irish breakfast. The place is very charmingly decorated, appropriate for an Irish pub, there are cozy booths which we hope to sit in next time. Service was good, well staffed. We spent a lot dough, but had a great time. I do think they are very careful about over serving, so beware of that, as you might get gently refused.

Wow... there's so much more to say since my first review! To be honest, I almost went over the 5000-character limit the first time. We've been to The Three Stags 3 more times since our first visit and each time was met with phenomenal food and service. I just HAD to post a follow-up so I could go more into detail about the feel of this place. Visit 2 - About a week after our first visit, wifey and I came in hungry for Fish n Chips; but it was Saturday and they had their brunch menu going on. Our fave server Breanna was there again and guided us through their brunch fare. The wife chose the French Toast breakfast and I went for the "Full Irish" Breakfast. Let me tell you, the "Full Irish" is a culinary adventure in itself. 2 eggs, "Rashers" (Irish Bacon), Bangers (sausage), mushroom, Irish "Farl" (potato bread), and Black and White pudding. For those of you who don't know what that is.. Black Pudding is blood sausage. I was a little hesitant at this but also curious, and our Breanna came through again and explained what everything was. to be honest, it was all delicious and filling. Wifey said that her French Toast was some of the best she'd ever had! Plus she discovered she love loves their featured Rekorderlig Pear Cider. During this visit, we got to personally meet and talk to the owners, Nick and Kerry, and learned a lot about how the former Citrone came to be The Three Stags. Visit 3 - Following week, my brother and I came in for a pint. Also hungry, he ordered the Fish N Chips and, since they were out of the Coddle that day, ordered a "Proper Salad". This salad truly is proper. The perfect size as an entre or a sharable. The mix of types of green is spot-on. I would order this again, but next time with the addition of a protein like bacon or grilled chicken to make it truly proper. The waitress's suggestion of their Amber Ale with this was great as it paired very well with our food. Read my first review about how awesome the Fish N Chips is! We also shared a "Spice Bag" between us, which is the perfect pub grub. Fries, chicken nuggets and peppers shaken together with spices in a brown bag, paired with a yellow curry gravy dipping sauce. THIS IS SOOOOOOOO YUM! Visit 4 - Last night the wifey and I came here for a "Date Night" for dinner, as we wanted to try the Corned Beef and Cabbage that was on their St. Patrick's Day menu. It was a Thursday evening and the place was packed and busy. We managed to find a spot in the back near the stairs at one of the "for two" tables I mentioned in my first review. We were worried that we might be forgotten about, service-wise. But nothing could have been further from the truth! Our server that night was Megan and she took GREAT care of us and was so attentive and helpful! We ordered Corned Beef with the Irish Breads appetizer. The corned beef was VERY flavorful, albeit a little on the fatty side. It wasn't off-putting, just unexpected. The cabbage itself was mixed with the "Champ" (Irish mashed potatoes). This gave the dish a savory taste that was very pleasant. We finished our date with their bread pudding which was enjoyed by both of us. We even got to chat again with owner Nick as the live band was tuning up. Something we noticed on all of our visits is that the service, especially from the kitchen, is FAST. Even when the place was packed, our food and drinks came before we knew it. The service is also FRIENDLY and ATTENTIVE. We've felt taken-care of every time here without being "mother henned" which we appreciate very much. We never had a chance to visit this location when it was Citrone so we really can't make any comparisons. However, the owners have given the place a sense of presence and belonging. It feels like they've been there for YEARS, not just weeks. Very few places have the sense of comfortable familiarity when you walk in for the first (or fourth!) times. The Three Stags is one such place. Highly, highly recommended.

This is the closest to an actual pub in Dublin you will ever see Erin Go Bragh to Dublin Nick!!!!

Great authentic food and ambience. Ate here on a Thursday late morning. Prompt service. Will go again. The only negative thing is that they have unisex bathrooms. Hate that.

Excellent food. The Shepherds pie was on point- so savory, juicy, and flavorful. I'm not a big asparagus fan, but it had the perfect char and was so delicious I ate it all. I started with a Gin sour to drink and it was PERFECT! It was the perfect balance of gin & lemon- it wasn't overly sweet and was balanced with egg white (which not many places do correctly). We loved the live music too. It wasn't overly loud and really complimented the place. I am really looking forward to our next visit!!

Mixed bag at The Three Stags. Husband wanted some authentic Irish fish & chips so I searched reviews and we decided to try The Three Stags. It was a Saturday night and things were hopping but we got a great table, tucked in to enjoy the ambiance and ordered drinks and appetizers. We opted for the Irish breads and both had The Harvester cocktails. Breads were amazing although some kind of a spread other than butter would be great. The Harvesters were DELICIOUS but we tried to order a top-shelf whiskey in it and were told we couldn't which honestly makes no sense. We would probably have been willing to pay an extra $5 per drink for the name-brand whiskey we wanted, so why wouldn't you allow this and make more $? We were confused by this practice but still would order the drink again. Then we had the fish & chips which were by far the best I've ever had. Can't recommend them enough. Then we ordered the bread pudding to go. I'm somewhat of a bread pudding connoisseur and was really looking forward to it. It came in a little box with a side of fresh whipped cream so the anticipation was great. Got home, opened the box and had about 10 small, hard, tasteless chunks of bread with a few raisins. Not sweet, not sticky, not tasty and certainly not worth the $12 it cost. Thoroughly disappointing. As bad as the bread pudding was and as sad as we were we couldn't pick our whiskey, we want to go back and try some other items that looked amazing but hopefully the owners will read this and make some positive changes before we come back the next time!
