We always sit in the same booth unless all of our kids and grandson are with us. Our waitress always recognizes us. She may not know our names, but she is always kind and has a great personality. I'm constantly telling others about El-Monte that they have the best food. Number 6 is our favorite.

Used to come here as a kid like 30 years ago and loved their big tostada with the crunchy tortilla bowl. I was in Reedley for the first time in many years, passed by it and decided to go in for an early dinner.
The first thing my wife and I noticed was it smelled like an old folks home in there. The tables were clean but the walls and menus were pretty grungy. Same weird haunted mansion style paintings on the wall that I remember from the 90's.
I got the chimichanga, my wife got a taco plate and my daughter got the big tostada bowl. My chimichanga actually tasted really good. The tacos were less authentic than Taco Bell though. Like those pre-made crunchy taco shells you buy from the grocery store.
First bite and my wife gets a long hair in her mouth that was embedded in the taco meat. Gross, but whatever, we're trying to power through at this point. Next I take a scoop of salsa and get a chunk of a rubber band on my chip.
Well that was it. We had barely started eating but had to stop. We couldn't let our daughter eat that big salad because who knows what's hiding in it.
I asked for the check but they comped our meal, thankfully, and we left hungry but also pretty grossed out.
We tried to support a small business despite all the red flags, but won't make that mistake again. Vaya con dios, El Monte Restaurant, we shall never meet again...

We haven't been here in several years. I don't think it's as good as before. Service was slow, it was 45 minutes to get our food. There was a very large group in the other room, so that was probably the reason. The salsa was very good.

I love eating at El Monte Resturant. I love their Chile Verde. To name one of the few. The atmosphere is always Pleasant. The owners are very nice. Very friendly, they always come out and say hello!! Prices are very reasonable. very happy with their service.

We had a party for almost 40 people and the service was excellent and the food was served hot! They served everyone at the same time which was impressive. The food was fantastic as always and I can’t say enough good things about our experience for my party!
I tried to order on a phone call and the lady was very very rude so I hung up and didn’t order she was very unprofessional and unethical.

Good authentic Mexican Food . If you ever had Mexican food from Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. This is the place for you . They have a lot of meals with ground beef, chicken , 2 types of Chile Verde and other various dishes. Highly recommend ??
