The service here was beyond horrible. The owners/servers were harsh, unconcerned with our dining experience, rude and very, very FAKE, softening only at payment/tip time. So sad. An exceptionally unwelcoming, disheartening and disappointing experience. We drove 2 hours, looking forward to a good vegan dining experience, only to be blatantly ignored, disrespected and treated as less than human for absolutely no reason at all. We are the kindest, nicest people, with beautiful souls and smiles to offer. Our smiles faded as we witnessed others around us being treated as human beings - just not us. I still left a tip, because somebody cooked the food, which wasn't even what we ordered. We barely touched it, taking all of it to go and tossing it into the trash. Note to owners: The signs you yearn to post outside of your restaurant, circa 1950's America, may be available soon enough. Fortunately for us, we learned today not to ever return to your restaurant again, so gratefully, we'll never see them.
Great food, lots of vegetables. Fun takes on faux meats. Updated from previous review on 2025-06-27
Let me tell you that we were craving for Vietnamese food and my husband wanted to have hot soup with lot of veges, we went to a restaurant last fortnight to our disappointed the host served non vegetarian hot soup even though we insisted on vegetarian, here the story is different it is vegan place , host is very friendly and welcoming very helpful, food is mind blowing , generous portion , tastes absolutely delicious and amazing menu, hot soup is must try, vege rolls with peanut sauce is good , fried rice with red chilli sauce is good
I was super disappointed to have them say they were creating something special, just for us, and then brought out a $22 fried rice. None of the food was actually good. Go elsewhere.
Let me start off by saying this is my first review ever! Vinh Loi Tofu has to be rated #1 restaurant food & hospitality in LA. Just literally leaving from there and now saved as a traditional location to visit anytime I’m in town! Order the ❝ Kevin Special ❞! Well seasoned food, great portions, ready temperature & prepared with love! One love 🇯🇲 Kevin & Family. Bless
Loved the restaurant – the food and service were both top-notch.
Great find and agree with the good reviews. In small strip mall of shops. Super friendly family run operation and service with lots of local patrons the owners recognized while we dined. So many choices it can be overwhelming. ALL vegan!!! Ordered: #S9 Bun Mang Vit (Bamboo "duck") #B7 Udon stir fry (duck) #R11 Peking duck spring rolls Surprised ourselves we had all duck dishes!! The duck was so realistic to the texture, flavor and mock crispy skin - so brought back memories of what it was like. Plentiful portions and well worth the cost for a fun delicious lunch. Still busy at 2:00pm Thai tea and mango fruit drink. Chocolate and coconut cake, many desserts not available. Some may not like the paper and plastic service, but so efficient for packing leftovers. Sure it helps keep cost in line. From over 400 miles from home but hope to come back and see what they do with "shrimp"
Great vegan food.
We had udon with BBQ duck, and beef-broccoli with steamed rice. Generous servings, couldn't eat it all.
The owner is like an instant best friend and such a good spirit and happy personality. He likes to choose what you should try based on a conversation with him. It is a meal and an experience. The food is incredible, excellent quality and flavor. Would definitely go back and highly recommend going for a visit.

I couldn’t wait to try this place and it did not disappoint. Everything is so delicious. I love it. I will definitely be going back and I would like to learn how to make some of the dishes. it has a huge menu, very creative and presentation was very nice too.
The food is good but, too pricy. They serve on disposable plates 🤔 Updated from previous review on 2025-03-31
This restaurant has such a special place in my heart. The food is amazinggg and everyone will agree! The community in there is really sweet it’s family-owned. If you need help deciding the staff will pick something for you. This is one of those hole in the wall spots that becomes unforgettable! It can get decently busy in the evenings so I would recommend going a bit earlier or calling ahead and asking what the seatings like. I take everyone I know here, plant-based and not plant-based and it’s truly loved by everyone. Go visit vinh loi!
One of the OG spots in the 818 from back in the day still holding it down. The menu is extensive so if you can’t decide the owner will recommend something good and a sure shot winner. Typically it’s one of the more popular dishes from the menu. Lots of mock meats on the menu but one can find something delicious with plenty of veggies or just order no faux.
