My wife and I were traveling on highway 395 about 10 miles south of Ridgecrest when, our car overheated and had to call AAA. We were pulled into town and ended up at the motel six next to Ephan Tacos.We went in to get something to eat, but were told that they were closed for the night. Instead of turning us away, the owner, I’m assuming, gave us a bunch of miscellaneous barbecued meats that he already had prepared.Really outstanding food, some of the best barbecue I’ve ever had. Thoughtful service. Highly recommended. I’ll be back tomorrow night for sure.

Food was decent, but the customer service was lacking. The girls behind the counter were clearly not happy and could be heard arguing with each other all the way out in the dining room.

I had the day special. Shrimp tacos. COD tacos.They both grilled to perfection.The flavors are just perfect. Just enough to enhance the meat and not over flavored it.Many restaurants put tons of salt and ruin the meats.The tacos were delicious!

The bottom line, excellent "murican" style BBQ. Hearty portions like its 1995. Bold, punchy seasonings. Confused service.I would go again, just needs a fine tune!The ribeye and the food were flavorful, I'd recommend the french dip. Unfortunately, the server forgot one of our sides and one of our garnishes. The exterior needs a good brightening up or some music as it didn't look inviting or open, and we almost left before we entered. The great ray of sunshine are the tasty, spicy foods. The sauces are on point, the meat preparation was smokey where needed and crispy.The portions are a great value! I wish every bbq restaurant served adult male portions even half the size of Ephens portions. I believe I got about 14 ounces of beef for my meat plate order, which is almost 3 times what you would get had you bought the same size from D$#%@s BBQ. Local beer served here.

Parking: The parking is vacant.

Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu with acceptable choices.

Just wanted to say I was absolutely impressed tonight with your brisket plate. Delicious indeed! The sides were delicious as well. Overall great dinner and the price was fair for the amount of food. Especially the quality of the food. Will be trying all of the other items on your menu. Thank you Ephen Tacos.

The smoked brisket tacos, tri tip sandwich, shrimp tacos, and cod tacos are delicious! The meat is very tende. Also the shrimp and cod are cooked perfectly. They have specials each day of the week which is a great deal on taco Tuesday and Friday. Can't wait to try the ribeye and prime rib dinners! Don't forget to get a punch card!!!

Dry chicken and limp potato wedges for $17+tax&tip, and 40 minute wait time I wasn't warned about when I ordered. Eat somewhere else.
