The sandwiches are very good, however the last 3 times a have gone there we have to go back for the juice for my French Dip. Very annoying.

There are sub-shops, and there are sub-shops . . . then there is Tummy's!

Tummy's in Rio Linda, California, has been around for a good long while, and I was a regular customer for about 12 of those years. I worked at the neighboring fertilizer plant and tried to get over to Tummy's for lunch as often as I could. And whenever the work called for overtime, it was most often attended with a bagged "dinner" order from Tummy's!

This place is famous for its subs, pure and simple. It doesn't have all the chrome and glamor of its uptown, franchised rivals, and it surely doesn't have what you'd call a decent parking space. But that all falls by the wayside once you bite into one of their gorgeous sub sandwiches. There are two basic things that separate a great sub from all the rest: fresh tasty breads and fresh tasty meats! And then there's that gal behind the well-worn counter who knows how to dish it all up!

If you're in the area and are thinking of lunch or dinner, then you owe it to yourself to see what a truly great submarine sandwich is all about. It's down-home, lip smack'n, fully satisfying food for the body and soul! And who cares about the price when that's being offered? (You might even want to keep the paper wrapping as a souvenir!)

Had the Philly Cheese Steak and a cookie. If bland food floats your boat then prepare to set sail on the Sea of Mediocrity. I had to add salt to my sandwich in order to eat it which is unfortunate because I used to come here in the early 2000s and it was rad. Oh well, it was nice to see it's still around.

Out in Rio Linda for the sole purpose of seeing if Rush Limbaugh was right...he was! It's a nice little town full of nice people that bend over backwards to hide whatever it is they've been up to. I fueled up, and talked to this guy that goes by the name of Bullhead, not because he's stubborn but because that's his favorite bait fishing for stripers. He tells me of the time he and Whisker Pete ...his one legged uncle once caught a 65 pounder but the leader broke right as it came up to the boat.
I asked him.. how did you know it was 65 pounds? He said Whisker told me his leg weighed 60 pounds when they cut it off, and that striper was just a tad bigger, so it had to weigh 65 pounds. Yeah, Rush sure was right!
The best thing though was the sandwich I had at Tummy's Sub Shop, ot was a 5 star experience! ☆☆☆☆☆
