Pretty cute spot! Wish the menu had something to accommodate dairy-free options, but overall, loved it and would return!

This is a highly cultured and sophisticated place in the middle of farmland central California. .. Judith the owner is a specialist in fine wine. Her sister does the cooking ... The food and the platter is as good or better than top restaurants in LA. Hidden gem . Amazing !

Stopped in for brunch... great ?? service from the beginning we were seated immediately. The apple and bacon crostini was delicious as our appetizer along with our craft mimosas. Brunch dishes were on point as well I had the delicious chorizo hash and potatoes and we also had a Dutch baby...

I am a regular at A Matter of Taste. This restaurant has become my go-to place for an evening of exceptional food, a welcoming ambiance, and impeccable service. This is my intimate spot where every visit becomes a cherished gathering with friends. One of my favorite rituals here is enjoying L'Apéro, just a pause before dinner that embodies the art of slow dining, which A Matter of Taste fosters. Seating on their paito, sipping on their curated wine while nibbling on their Pissaladière, instantly transported me to a café in the South of France. Dinner never disappoints. On my last visit, I indulged in the Cod with honey-lemon-avocado vinaigrette—chef's kiss! The dish presentation, the burst of flavors and perfecly cooked fish was a a treat. I savored every bite! It was a meal that lingered in my memory so I had to order it to go the next day. Whether you're looking for an elegant night out, a date, a relaxed gathering with friends, or a chance to explore flavors from around the world, A Matter of Taste delivers with every detail. If you appreciate thoughtful cuisine, warm hospitality, and a touch of European charm, this is a place worth returning to—again and again.

The portions are just right, the ingredients are incredibly fresh, and the creativity in every dish is impressive. I couldn’t resist ordering the lasagna, and it was amazing. Every bite was rich with flavor, with just the right touch of spice to make it unforgettable. An exceptional dish in every way!

Food is amazing, fresh, full of flavor. I’ve recently moved back to the valley from the Bay Area, so I’m very familiar with the food in both locations and typically find Central Valley restaurants lacking. This place supersedes my expectations. And is better than a lot of Bay Area restaurants. Also, the service was phenomenal. The waitress and who I’m guessing is the owner was very welcoming, felt like a warm hug. I will definitely be back.

This was my husband and my second time coming here, and we will be back again. We stopped in on our way back from taking our baby to an appointment in SF. They were able to accommodate my dietary restrictions of dairy and gluten in a way that made me very comfortable. These accommodations did not diminish quality at all. Portion sizes were just right for how hungry we were after a long day of travel. They also were very friendly and helped to entertain my baby that had been cooped up in the car all day. The staff and chef has cemented this place in our hearts as one of our go to spots for a date night or just stopping in for a quick bite.

Wife and I went here last night, absolutely love atmosphere and the vibe. The food is fantastic, highly recommend the deconstructed bruschetta. Everything seems to be made in house from the pasta and bread to the pesto it was all fantastic. Our server Kendal was awesome and we had a great conversation about our travels and hers. Cannot wait to come back again to try the short rib but I couldn’t pass up fresh pesto.

This place could do a ton better. It has potential. When we walked up it looked closed. They need some sort of open sign. The pricing is pretty high especially for the wine pours which I think is deterring people from coming.

An absolutely amazing restaurant, on par if not better than other local places like the Red Wood Cafe in Modesto or the Market Tavern in Stockton! A Matter of Taste brings unique made from scratch dishes that are expertly crafted, served in a wonderful atmosphere! We had the fish tacos and chicken piccata, with pretzels as an hors d'oeuvre, and had their chocolate cake and blueberry cheesecake for dessert. Don't sleep on their house made desserts which are amazing! Hands down. Best cheesecake I've ever had, and I've tried a lot of cheesecakes! Not only is the food amazing, but it can't be beat at this very reasonable price point! The service was also impeccable, big thanks to our server Dean! My wife and I will be coming back for a fancy date night soon!

Cozy and intimate bistro with great food, wine, and service in Ripon, CA. We had the chef’s specials and recommended wine pairing. My husband enjoyed his Herb Crusted Filet Mignon. Pasta was flavorful and comforting; and the beef was tender. Bread was soft with tasty and salty butter. Malbec was good.Spaces are limited so reservations are recommended. Tonight was not a busy night but street parking was pretty full. Be prepared to park and walk a little bit to the restaurant. We didn’t park too far but it was chili and windy to walk back to the car. Also, great service by Taylor!Thank you!
