waited at the host stand for over 15 minutes on a thursday night. so many servers and other staff members made eye contact and didn't even acknowledge our presence. wont ever come here again and i tell others not to even bother.

American Social is a new restaurant in Ripon that I am pretty impressed by. I went to the previous restaurant before American Social took over, but both are great. The service here is great and they ask for lots of feedback too which is appreciated. The ambiance is always comfortable and on a weekend I definitely recommend booking a reservation as it can get busy. The Steak Sandwich ($23) and Creamy Chicken Basil Pesto Pasta ($24) are easily my two favorite items on the menu. The Steak Sandwich I asked for it cooked medium rare and it was perfect and so unbelievably tender. The Chimichurri sauce they used was a 10/10. The bread was amazing too. The sandwich itself was definitely one of the best steak sandwiches I've hand. The only negative I have to say is that I wish the fries were cooked longer and they give a pretty small portion for them when they are the most inexpensive part of the dish. The Creamy Chicken Basil Pesto Pasta was also very good minus the unnecessary micro greens that they have an obsession with putting on top of so many of their dishes. It's a taste that does nothing, but subtract from the dish. Flavor rise that pesto was outstanding. The chicken was very juicy and the pasta had a nice texture as well. Ripon and a lot of the central valley isn't loaded with great restaurant options honestly, but American Social definitely has the potential to be one of the best in the area if they keep up the consistency and improve. The service and ambiance alone is great, but I'm happy with every dish I've tried here so far too.

First time here, and would definitely return. I agree with other commenters - the menu is limited, appetizer offerings are bit seafood prevalent too. I'd love to see one or two other apps and / or a few more dinner choices but what they did offer looked delicious. We had the hamburger and the steak sandwich and both were excellent. Our server Jordan was lovely, very attentive and polite.

The staff was warm and welcoming! Our meals were divine and the service from Ellen and Ashley was outstanding!! Drinks and meals were lovely and Ellen and Ashley were very attentive and helpful! We will definitely be back!!

I wasn’t a fan of the house salad. Its the lettuce that reminds me of weeds. And I don’t like olives or fruit on my salad, wish id known it wasn’t a traditional house salad. Also got the pesto veggie pasta, but it was loaded with olives & mushrooms which are the two vegetables I dislike the most, I ordered my salad without olives so I wish I had known those would be rhe veggies of choice lol It would be better if it was zuchini, bell peppers, onion, asparagus, and/or broccoli. Olives & mushrooms r a bit weird for pasta… So unfortunately this visit wasn’t the best. My husband liked his steak sandwich but wished it had more steak on it. We will come back & try the pizza next time though.

Good was good, fries were excellent and hot, but not a lot of options for vegetarians. Service was ok, staff was really nice and personable but slow. We ordered water and drinks to start with while reading menus and didn’t get water until probably 15min later. You would ask for 2 things and get 1, and wait another 5-10min for anything additional, one at a time.It was cool seeing in the kitchen thru the glass including the chef, but also saw service staff standing around and some on their phone.Atmosphere was nice, place looked new and cool. I heard it used to be a different restaurant but at the time it was new when we visited in Dec 2023.Portions were large although the beet salad I got was fairly small compared to meat containing meals. I forgot to take photos of food, sorry.Vegetarian options: Not much options for vegetarians. Portions were huge except for the one beet salad I got. Tasted great though.
