Such a fun old fashioned creamery! Big variety of ice cream flavors and even bulk candy for purchase. Hannah was very friendly and accommodating allowing me to taste test a few flavors.
I highly recommend and would definitely return.
I mean... Is there even another ice cream parlor at this point???
Ice Cream Emporium delivers that rare SUPERB combination of old-time hospitality, unforgettable flavor choices, and true local charm. Every visit feels like a sweet little time machine where kids giggle, grandparents smile, and even mom and dad forget about emails and just enjoy the moment.
You can clearly see the care and precision that flows into it. Hannah and her family are absolutely top-tier for community involvement and stellar concepts.
As a creative studio, we work with brands across California and there's no comparison of the love that pours out of that shop. We’d never go anywhere else for an all-around QUALITY experience like this. The Central Valley shines through the eyes of a child here. Bring your family, bring your friends, or bring someone who just needs a pick-me-up. It’s a place they won't soon forget!
stopped in for ice cream staff is very friendly
Even after just one visit, Ice Cream Emporium left such a great impression! The atmosphere is lively and full of character — the kind of place that makes you feel happy the moment you walk in. Definitely looking forward to coming back soon.
Was such a fun spot to come across on our adventure day out. Very cute inside, the smell of fresh baked waffle cones and employee friendliness was all the worthwhile to go with our treats.
Such a cute little spot on Main St, great quality ice cream and friendly staff. Much cheaper than the Ghirardelli outlet in Lathrop.
Expensive for ice cream but totally worth it!
This adorable little café, located on a sweet, but far less glamorous and idealized version of “Main Street USA“ just south of Modesto pretty much runs on the singular inside joke of #IYKYK…
Anyone who’s ever enjoyed Disneyland‘s Gibson Girl ice cream parlor will immediately get the rather unique soundtrack- a combination of turn-of-the-century orchestral suites, ragtime, and Fantasyland soundtrack.
Easter eggs are cleverly laid out throughout this tiny café, including portraits of Walt Disney, the old-fashioned candy store sweets for purchase at the register (a wink no doubt to the Park’s Candy Palace), and even the carnations neatly decorating each table – for sure a nod to the brand the ice cream parlor used to be sponsored by on Main Street USA – Carnation Ice Cream.
The employees are all upbeat, and while not quite as Type A Groomed as Cast Members (employees) at Disneyland, they certainly are up to the task in terms of cheerfulness, politeness- and clearly enjoying every moment of this faux-Disney Parks experience.
The ice cream was perfectly acceptable. Nothing out of the ordinary (wasn’t quite sure of the brand, if it was Dreyers, which is what Disneyland features), or some other generic brand, and the Sundays were perfectly adequate, but certainly nothing compared to say, the extravagance and beauty of SERENDIPITY in New York.
The main reason for the three stars was a rather disappointing portion, served not in a Sundae glass bowl, or frosted glass… but in a thin, recyclable plastic cup!
It was so completely anticlimactic to have our Sundaes served in what looked like beer cups from Dodger Stadium, with thin plastic spoons!! - that I almost said something unkind out loud.
I held my tongue, but was saddened that yet another shop has succumbed to the cheapness and frugality, and lack of class that so many have post-Covid.
Eating an ice cream sundae out of the thin plastic cup, had all of the glamour and joy of pulling a stale Drumstick cone out of your freezer. It certainly hits the craving, but takes away the whole experience of enjoying real ice cream.
I would beg ownership to reconsider, because it gave the whole experience, a cheapness and rather sad quality. Are they that hard up that they can’t afford putting bowls in a dishwasher?
Root Beer floats were likewise served in these cheap frail cups, as were any of the made-to-order malts etc. In fact, ice cream and drink drinks alike were served in the exact same cups, which was truly bizarre.
Same portions, same size, same downgrading.
The prices were fine, and the atmosphere enjoyable -
but again, if you’re going to attempt to bring the Disney Parks experience outside of the monorail tracks and into one’s hometown… you want to at least hit a double or triple - if not a home run. But the whole experience kind of felt like we only got to first base - certainly not hitting it out of the park.
An adorable concept, but with the lack of great ice cream and toppings, and the cheap servingware, once you got past the novelty and inside jokes, it just felt like a bit of a letdown.
Thank you!
This is a delightful ice cream shop! The atmosphere and decorations have a nostalgic air. The sundae was enjoyable.
Darling spot! Great desserts and great staff!

GREAT.
Great food and experience
This place was so cute!! They are very generous in their serving sizes so don't order something large hbl you're SURE you can eat it all. My favorite thing about it was the atmosphere of the place. It's like going back in time! The staff is mostly college age kids but they were all very sweet and put a smile on our faces.
The Ice Cream Emporium in downtown Ripon is hands-down one of our favorite local spots! The nostalgic vibe, friendly staff, and mouthwatering treats make every visit a joy.
The peanut butter banana malt is absolutely amazing — the perfect blend of creamy, nutty, and sweet with just the right amount of richness. And if you haven’t tried the banana cookie dough with Reese’s sundae, you are seriously missing out! It’s a flavor explosion of gooey, chocolatey, peanut-buttery goodness that’s both fun and totally satisfying.
Their portions are generous, their flavors are creative and fresh, and it’s clear they take pride in every scoop. Whether you’re grabbing a quick cone or sitting down for a sundae with the family, this place never disappoints.
Highly recommend making it a regular stop — it’s a true Ripon treasure!
