I was excited to try this place as the prime rim came highly recommended. The decor was charming but the light level was a little low for steakhouse dining. I looked over the menu fully intending to get the prime rib. I must say it was a little underwhelmed by the available side dishes. I ordered the prime rib with a side of steak fries and beans. The prime rib was good but nothing I would sing praises about and there was way too much pepper in the beans. When I asked my friend who recommended this establishment they said the prime rib used to be a lot better. I guess I must have tried it too late. All in all it was good but not great.

So it was another hot one in riverbank California. Decided to go out for dinner to beat the heat. Went to Cool hand Luke's in riverbank California. When I first walked in I noticed how dark it was. It was very dark throughout the restaurant. I ordered chicken fried steak mashed potatoes and broccoli. And a diet Coke for my drink. The diet coke was okay. I would say it was a lot better than some Cokes at other restaurants. Mashed potatoes were good. They were garlic mashed potatoes with gravy over them. I got the broccoli but I didn't eat any of it. Oh and the bread was very good. It was fresh. But nothing special about the butter. It was just regular butter. But the chicken fried steak the main course of the dinner was thin and I would say it was overcooked. But again it was so dark in there I couldn't see what I was eating I had to tell by tasting it. Now when it came to the staff. They were very friendly. I gave the staff five stars. I guess I would have to say after the pandemic the restaurants have just gone down hill.

My son and I went for dinner today. Ordered the TBone dinner to share. It came with either a salad or soup. We got the Chicken Pot pie soup. It was delicious. The campfire beans were yummy along with tge sourdough rolls. Everything was delicious along with the service.

The staff is really what has me coming back to this location has a great set of people, they are wonderful and so sweet and always working hard!!! The employees are just so darn nice and great! Thank you!!!! I know how hard it can get sometimes but let me tell you this staff is the best!!! They sat our party of 13 immediately, Daniel and Bell were phenomenal, don’t let the bad reviews steer you away . We couldn’t wait to write this review . On top of everything the food was really good too! Steaks are top notch . Thanks again !!

Good place to go before 5: 30pm for a steak dinner. After 5:30 the prices get pretty steep and the quality is good but not as good as Morton's steakhouse. Is 6 oz filet is 39.00. we always go before 5:30 because you can get a steak potatoes and beans for $16. Then it's a good deal period waitresses are fine no problem with them Services good steaks came very quickly the atmosphere while there really isn't any. There is a bar but there wasn't any people in it. Inside the restaurant that was about 10 or 15 people. Enough to keep the place alive. Overall yes go there and have a steak but before 5:30

Worst dining experience ever. Took over an hour to get our appetizer which came out with our food. People arriving after us were already eating. Steak bites were well instead of rare. Baked potato had sour cream after asking for none. Tri tip sandwich burnt and cold and even when we finally got foid we still had no silverware. Will not be returning. Just came back huge mistake. Things have not changed. 53 minutes for 2 sandwiches.
