I ordered a Caldo de res (Beef soup) to go. It comes with fresh handmade corn tortillas (3) a small container that has half Rice and half cilantro/onion. I didn't expect the rice to be accompanied with the side veggies nonetheless the rice and Soup was delicious!

This restaurant is intimate and full of character. More restaurants like this used to exist, and are slowly fading out, so I was glad to be back in this environment and feel comforted by all the small touches and home-like vibes.
We ordered the birria de chivo and it was full of flavor. The portion size was generous and very filling, and it was also affordably priced! The tortillas a mano made it even better.

I was looking for some breakfast in the area of Riverbank. I was craving a breakfast burrito and I googled and was led to El Jacalitio. My 1st experience was a lasting one and definitely won't be the last. I had a chorizo breakfast burrito which was great. I have since been back on numerous occasions with my family. This is by far the best Mexican food not only in Riverbank but in the surrounding Modesto area. Don't take my word for it, go visit and experience delicious...
